A haven of tranquility and peace!
This place is amazing and the view is unbeatable. My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Aegean Blue Studios and everything was perfect, the warm welcome from the hosts, Sofia and George, the location only 5 mn walk from the center with all the bars, restaurants, shops, the large pool area, the proximity to the beach. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. We will be back, no doubt about this! :-)
Location Location Location
These studios are in a tremendous location with most all balconies having an amazing view of the pool and the sea beyond. They are also within 5 to 10 minutes walk to Afytos which is by far the nicest resort village on the peninsula, with loads of shops and restaurants but still retaining a very traditional Greek feeling missing in so many Halkidiki resorts. The owners (George and his wife) and staff were very friendly and helpful and really made you feel at home and this is a small complex so you get a very personal relationship with the staff and excellent standards of service. The wifi was as good as mine at home though the studios were half empty when I was there so no idea what it would be like when full. Only BBC World in English on the TV. The studios were spotlessly clean and well maintained but fairly basic in traditional Greek style, small shower cubicle, small wardrobe etc, but functional and adequate. Large balcony with table and chairs and great views. The kitchenette was small, just two electric rings and a kettle, no microwave or toaster which would have been nice and little work surface so only really of use to do breakfast, salads and sandwiches rather than any real cooking, however the evening meals in the village were cheap anyway. There is also a café by the pool offering breakfasts for between $5 and $10 Euros and simple snacks. Secure free car parking behind an electronic gate is available and there is a .nice pool with integral jacuzzi and plenty of sunbeds in well kept gardens. There is a beach but the cliff top position of the accommodation requires a 5 to 10 minute walk downhill and uphill coming back. We stayed in late September into October and please note that resorts in this area start shutting down in early October so by the time we left on Oct 12th, they were very quiet and half the facilities had closed for the end of the season,. Most of the guests were couples, many of them mature and I would recommend this location to that type of traveller as not much for children to do apart from the pool and no clubs etc nearby for young adults. The complex is ideal as a base for a sightseeing holiday and would recommend car hire if you wish to sight see, plenty of car hire places about, Nea Moudania is a nice town nearby with a spectacular new church and Thessaloniki is an interesting city to visit as is Verginia to see the tomb of King Phillip, the father of Alexander the Great We travelled to Meteora from there also but it is a 3.5 hours drive so recommend an overnight stop ( but well worth the journey as a bucket list type of place) All in all, would recommend this accommodation and there did seem to be many returning guests.
2nd time around
We stayed here from 5th Oct to the 12th and this was our 2nd visit to Aegean Blue and hopefully WON'T be our last . this place is amazing , so peaceful and quiet , I can't speak highly enough of Sophia and George they both make your stay superb and nothing is to much trouble .Niccolleta the cleaner is one of the nicest people you could ever meet as well. Always a Kalimera in the mornings with a smile . You will find this hotel's facilities are pretty much second to none , clean spacious rooms, good size bathrooms , VERY good breakfast's , BUT it's location is one of the best , short strole into the village which is lovely cobbled streets with taverners bar's and quaint restaurant's and gift shops. To Sophia and George THANK YOU both for a wonderful stay ..
Amazing Agean Blue
Been home 12 days now and thought I'd write this review. What a fantastic time we had staying at the agean blue ,Fantastic sea views, spotless clean appartments, with comfy bed which h is a plus.We were made to feel so welcome by Sofia and George, what great people they are. Also Chris at the bar is such a fine young guy who was so pleasant. The cleaner was so nice also and kept the place so tidy with regular clean towels. As for Afitos itself it's a hidden gem, such a tranquil Greek village with lovely bars, restraunts and shops. All a 5 min walk from the agean blue. The allocation of the Agean is first class and we enjoyed the morning breakfast looking into the sea.George is such a great character and enjoyed the many conversations we had and also the laughter. The swimming pool and sunbeds were also very good.We met many nice people while staying there and everyone spoke highly of the Agean Blue.Aspecial mention to 108 Mick and Janet who are such a great couple, and 107 kathy and Alan also,we shared some laughs .Would definitely return to Agean blue in the future.A massive thank you to Sofia and George .YAMAS Kenny & DAWN
Stunning Hotel - Amazing Staff - Breathtaking Views
Stayed at this hotel between 26th September - 4th October. The views completely exceeded my expectations and the Staff (George) were brilliant. So friendly and helpful. The rooms were really clean perfect sized shower, kitchen area was small but perfectly sized for what you would need. The views from the Balconies are brilliant and the swimming pool area is super clean. The time of year we went was perfect for us as it was really quiet. The walk into the town centre was around 5 minutes and it was full of cobbled streets, little cafes, tavernas and shops. Would 100% recommend this as a place to stay.
