Take a pass.
The check-in staff was great and very friendly. But, this hotel was DIRTY. I don’t understand anyone saying this place was clean. The floor in our room was disgusting, the carpet had holes and huge stains. While we were getting our stuff brought in, we let our 1 year old down and just in those few minutes it took to get settled, her feet were black. The bathtub and toilet seat had pubic hairs on them. There was something on the wall in the bathroom that looked like blood splatter, but I can’t swear that’s what it was. There was food and trash under the couch. It was just dirty and unkept. I almost never rant about businesses because I know people have bad days and make mistakes but this was not the situation. These issues did not happen overnight and it’s hard for me to imagine no one else has complained. We did ask for a different room but were told there was no other suites available. Bless the nice lady at the front desk who offered to come clean the room at 9pm even though she was the only one there. We declined her offer though and just decided to sleep and get the hell out of there. Im posting pictures, but my husband rinsed the tub and wiped the toilet before I could get of picture of them. The wipe picture is from the baby’s feet within 10 minutes of being there. Marriott: this property is shameful.
Quiet and comfortable
I got a suite here and spent some quality time with a friend who now resides in an assisted living facility. The room was perfect. We enjoyed Netflix on the tv in a roomy sitting area with plenty of room to spread out. The mattresses and linens were top-rate and the whole facility was quiet and very clean. We were able to do a bit of shopping just across the parking area and were close to many good restaurants. I very much recommend TownePlace Suites and would gladly stay here again.
Pet friendly, convenient location, friendly staff, needs updating
We are staying here due to a job relocation and while waiting to close on a new home. Since this will be “home” for a couple of weeks, I will be cooking meals as usual. A free breakfast is provided, but my husband said it was horrible. I’ll be cooking our own breakfast. If you will be cooking as well, you will need a few items that are not provided: Oven mitts Baking sheets Extra kitchen towels and cloth There is only 3 small spoons, 3 forks and 4 butter knives. One kitchen towel and one kitchen cloth. There is a small pot, a skillet and a large pot. However, they are in horrible condition and in need of replacing. The Teflon is peeling and is unsafe to use. We went and bought cookware at Tuesday morning, along with a sharp knife. There is a plastic colander, measuring spoons, one ladle and and one spatula. A cutting board, a serrated knife and a measuring cup. A toaster and coffee pot. Microwave, small fridge (with 2 shelves in door missing) and a dishwasher. There are also 2 glass storage bowls. A laundry area is available, but we haven’t used yet. Our room has two separate bedrooms and one shareable bath in hall. Each bedroom has a closet and tv, nightstands and dresser. A hairdryer is provided in bathroom. The room is in dire need of repainting and “refreshing”. The furniture and carpet are stained, worn and fraying. (This may be a dedicated “pet” room and we do have 2 dogs with us.). Maybe that’s why it is in such bad shape? Living area had a dining table and 4 chairs. A sitting chair and small sleeper sofa, ottoman and tv and stand. There is NO water pressure in shower/tub. And it takes a good 7 minutes for the water to get hot. In the kitchen, there is no cold water 🤷🏻♀️ Beds are comfortable, hotel is quiet. The mall is walkable (share a parking lot) and it’s an easy drive to other shopping. Albertsons is walkable, but would be quiet leary at night. Lots of people begging for money outside of stores and parking lots. We’ve stayed at many hotels while traveling and with my husbands job. This is the worst. Would not recommend compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in.
Perfect Pre-Halloween Scare
Since I always check reviews on multiple sites before selecting a place to stay, I was surprised at just how scary this place turned out to be. My son and I needed a one night stay for a quick trip to pick up my other son’s car. He’s stationed at Ft Polk but got orders for the Mexican Boarder and asked us to pick up and take care of his car while he was gone. This is about a 10 hour one way drive for us so all we really needed was comfortable beds for the night and a hot shower in the morning. Doesn’t seem like much to ask for from a Marriott. Having stayed at quite a few(although it’s been a while), I had little concern at all. I chose a higher priced room so that my son and I could each have our own king beds in a 2 room suite. This seemed like the best bet for a good night’s sleep, since we would each have another long drive in the morning. We rolled in around 10pm on a Saturday and that’s when it started... Check-in was ok, once the clerk showed up (he was behind a closed door with no way to call him when we arrived) We took the elevator to the 4th floor and each of us prepared for bed. I always do a bedbug check so I tried to lift the mattress a bit to peak beneath, no sign of bugs, but the sheet came up in my hand. The mattress pad beneath looked like it had seen a few generations of guests before I got there. It was hanging on by threads. Hoping at least the sheets were clean and too tired to worry about what was under them, I continued my evening routine. I noticed when I walked by the tv stand/dresser, that one of the sliding drawers was a little bit open-so I closed it shut. I walked around the bed and grabbed my jammies out of my overnight bag and turned around and the drawer was open again. (Clearly a case of an unbalanced dresser but still creepy when you’re sleeping by yourself). I was completely exhausted after driving all day and pretty much went straight to sleep. I was woken up multiple times by people carrying on in the parking lot and a dog that was barking (I’m guessing they must have been pretty loud since we were on the top floor). At one point, I woke up and there was some sort of light reflecting on the wall from the back of the television which seemed odd but I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep. It did bother me a bit because the room had been quite dark before that. Well, I got through the rest of the night with no more inanimate objects doing anything extraordinary. When I finally gave up and decided to get up and take a shower, I realized that my son must have had a similar experience. He texted me and said he had left to head back around 5:30 am. I was up around 7. I brushed my teeth and started running my shower and could not get any hot water. It would get cold if I turned to to cold, but if I turned it to hot the best I could get was tepid...Not even luke warm. This was a Sunday morning so I was relatively sure it wasn’t an exhausted hot water reserve. I went to the sink and could get hot water there, so I continued to try to run the shower hoping for a better result...but to no avail. I finally gave up and used a washcloth in the sink and some soap, to do the best I could. Luckily, the ride back was solo..otherwise it might have been scary for whoever was in the truck with me. Essentially, a huge disappointment for a Marriott hotel. I expect more from them. That said, it’s been a while since we stayed with them, so maybe that’s changed. Seems to me that a comfortable bed and a hot shower are the 2 basic things you want out of a hotel. They missed on at least 1/2 of that. The bed wasn’t uncomfortable, but definitely not good quality and I realize that the mattress pad is UNDER the sheet, but it seems like you might want to change that out once a decade or so. I mare my way down to the desk to check out and once again, no clerk in sight. I totally get not having someone camped at the desk at 10pm...But at 7ish someone should be there. I shouldn’t have to stand around and wait for someone to wonder out from behind a closed door to check out in the morning. She asked about my stay and I mentioned the shower. She asked if I had let it run and I told her I had (even though this doesn’t seem like it should be necessary in 2019) and her response was “Sorry about that”. Needless to say, I didn’t mention any of my other thoughts. She emailed my receipt to me without asking my preference. When I got to my truck, I realized that the emailed receipt said I had been billed $190.00 but my discover card showed $210.00. Seems kind of high for a relatively lousy nights sleep and no shower. We are heading to Florida next week. I guess we will stay exclusively at Hilton.
nice stay
We were only there 1 night while traveling. Front desk staff very friendly, room was clean. Refrigerator wasn’t working- actually draining water on the floor so we shut it off and let staff know. Nice pool area with a barbecue that a really nice young family took advantage of. Pretty easy access to I49 as well. Quiet- no issues there. We had to leave before breakfast at 7 so didn’t get to try it.
