Great location, so-so room, pool closed

We've stayed multiple times at this location. It is very convenient to the highway and places we want to go but compared to a recent stay at another HIE and other hotels in the area, quality is going down. Our room was at the farthest end from the road but the room A/C was noisy. The bath mat had multiple large holes in it. The bar of soap was so thin I broke it one handed. There were bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower but no other toiletries like lotion or makeup remover. Plus the pool was closed for maintenance. Front desk staff was efficient but wouldn't say friendly or glad that we were staying there. We did not eat breakfast here so can't speak to how it is.

Staff wasn't so friendly. Was expecting better service. Would like to give the hotel another try but I'm hoping customer service gets better the room was ok the cleaning ness was ok as well just the service ...

Good location and quiet

Hotel was very clean comfortable and convenient. Good nights sleep. Front desk should know the exit to take to get to hotel. That was only complaint. But highly recommended property Restaurants within walking distance.

No Keys No Internet

1 star is a gift to them from me because I can't rate them a 0. Currently you can't have a key to your room, apparently their system is down for several weeks. So they have to let you in your room each and every time. Im not sure what regulation that breaks but I'll make it my mission to find out next week. I attempted to leave a side door propped since there is no key for 2 minutes while I picked up my food but the help removed the rock and smiled at me. The reason why I was trying to avoid the main lobby was bc I am in quarantine awaiting test results. There is no internet and that's going to be down for weeks. So currently if you stay here you will get no keys or internet. You can book nearby for cheaper and or same price and get those "amenities". This is a black eye to the Holiday Inn Express brand and obviously there are some problems with the owner operator of this hotel.

From IHG: "...redefining cleanliness and supporting wellbeing throughout your stay. We are expanding our commitment to cleanliness..." There's talk the talk, and then there's walk the walk. Given the condition of our room and this facility, we're pretty certain it's just talk. Clear/obvious signs that someone was in a hurry getting this room ready: the sofa was filthy (covered in food crumbs & hair; the fabric had a 4" gash in it); the carpet had not been vacuumed, the bath tile was not swept/mopped. The hanging lamp in the corner was busted/crooked. We actually checked our sheets twice to be sure that they had been changed. In addition, the hall carpet had stains, the eating area near the lobby was not clean, and both stairwells were filthy. All this on a weekend where, according to the desk attendant at check-in, was no where near at capacity. This has not been our experience at other Holiday Inn Express locations, and we acknowledge/hope that this particular weekend might have been a fluke.
