Great place and stay! The hotel was very clean and comfortable! AJ's steakhouse had great food and friendly staff! The casino has a put all the smokers in a section and the rest of the casino did not stink!! That was a great plus for a non-smoker!

We typically stay away from resort locations but decided to take a chance, great choice. Nice room, very comfortable bed, although we were facing a wall most rooms had great views out the window. Bring your walking shoes, there’s a lot to see and do. Great food at the Paddock grill.

Quite disappointed simply. Advertising as a sports book destination, to only find a handful of tables that are overran by the same people each day. More tvs are dedicated to horse races than Basketball during the first couple days of NCAA March Madness. Decided to try some tables and dealers are rude. I know the house always wins but this house won't even allow fun. Download a betting app and avoid visiting. Now for my hotel stay. I have only a view I would expect at an office building. Feel like I can walk out on the dirty roof top. Beds were also rock hard and flat pillows made sleeping very difficult. Hot tub was closed our entire stay, pool was small and packed with kids. Bar is only open on Friday and Saturdays from 4 pm to when the bartender feels like closing which is usually earlier than the guests want. Several times through the night we heard people yelling in the halls and were very loud in general. During the global pandemic, if you would like a mask, front desk will sell you one for $4! Blow away on how terrible their customer service is here in the middle of Iowa.

The wife and I are "senior citizens living on a fixed income". Just turned 80. We travel from the Kansas City area to Prairie Meadows two or three times a year. This was our first time staying at the hotel because of the discounted room rate offered. We can't afford the normal rates. Over the years, we have traveled coast to coast staying at various hotels / motels. This hotel was , by far, the best we have encountered. Comfort and convenience were outstanding. The Front Desk staff was aware that we were celebrating our 56th wedding anniversary during our stay. On the actual anniversary date, a complimentary snack basket was delivered to our door. The contents of the basket were not such a big deal but the thought was above and beyond any expectation. For the most part, rooms are rooms. It's the people that make the difference. You won't find any better anyware in the hotel, eateries, or casino.

They required masks but allow smoking in their casino. The lady actually told me “I can remove my mask to smoke”. Then for my “health and safety” they had the fitness area and pool closed. The workers were well trained to question you anytime you didn’t have a mask on. Very militant stay…
