Fairfield Inn or TownePlace Suites? Either/or
Avaliou em 17 de setembro de 2022
A newer property flying two brand flags, the TownePlace Suites shares a lobby, elevators, gym, etc with a Fairfield Inn and Suites. Our room was designed to make the best use of every square inch - there was plenty of space, but a very tight gap between the foot of our bed and the pulled out sofa. Would be convenient for VA visits or local colleges.
Really nice property, comfortable bed, friendly staff, free EV charge.

We stopped through on our way home from south to north yesterday. I chose this location because of its advertised EV charger, which was conveniently located, and free. It's right up front by the door, to do the left of it, and it appears to be for 3 shared spaces, however the station itself is all the way to the right of the three spots, so you could definitely charge in the right spot, and maybe the middle, but it'd be hard to imagine it reaching to the far left spot. Either way, it was a free L2 charge which was awesome. The room was quite nice, with a stove, dishwasher, and full fridge and freezer. The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of doordash options available. Overall, we'd likely stay here again if ever in Altoona.

Stayed in room 134 for business. Front desk crew was pleasant enough and hotel appears well kept and newer. Parking was free but did get crowded in the evening. Room was clean and large enough with good amenities. Fitness center was definitely above average. Did not use pool but looked decent. Close to everything in Altoona. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well. Only things I didn’t care for were the breakfast. Frozen reheated biscuit sausage sandwiches, just boiled eggs, some weird tasting reheated quiches, some days no cereal, muffins, yogurt, and oatmeal. Would have rather seen staples such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage separate, pancakes or waffles, etc. and the fact that they get a lot of work crews staying there which seem to want to hang out and gather in hallways and stairs
If I could give no stars I would

To say this place is messed up and racist an doesn’t care about someone with mental health and disabilities, is an understatement. I made reservations in July with the notion they offered rooms with 2 queens and pull out sofas as other TownePlace Suites I’ve stayed at offer. I made my 2 queen suite reservation and was hesitant due to past bad racial experiences with other Marriott locations, but I needed a kitchen. So I booked anyways. I arrived at the hotel to check in an as soon as I started to both bob and other Caucasian co worker were whispering to each other but I still paid it no mind as I was just tired from the long 4 hr drive with my family of 7 and I’m handicap so my legs wanted rest quick. I was checked in and went upstairs to my room. I opened the door an as soon as I opened it I starting having a whole panic attack. The rooms are extremely small. There is no pull out sofas, and the kitchen is so small I almost missed it at first glance. I became overwhelmed and immediately went back down to inform bob. Bob informed me that their location doesn’t offer what others do after he already swiped my card. I even came in with all my family of 7 so you think Bob would’ve said something like wait you all can’t fit in their but maybe that’s why they were whispering to each other, who knows. I told Bob to cancel because I explained to him that with my disabilities I can’t sleep in that room it’s to small for me and for my family. Even if I was alone with no one that room is to small for me, and instead he refused to cancel an said just find another place an we will cancel at no charge. He seemed like he cared about my disabilities at first. I’m not from here or ever been their just was visiting sick family member so after searching I found a place an called to inform bob. However he then had a change of mind, telling me that he changed his mind and it’s to late for me to cancel anything. I became confused, because before I left the hotel he practically begged me not to cancel but then said he would once I found a place there was never a time limit. I then went in to ask him why the change of heart and he became very nasty with me an denying he said I could cancel when my whole family heard him say I could. I then asked for his name and his smart a** gonna wright his name with a smirk on his face and tell me he is a platinum member which I never asked him to tell me this. Insinuating that his bosses will believe him instead of me. Turns out they did because I was charged the full room and tax to my debit card $126.54. Never again will I stay with any Marriott. Hilton’s are cleaner, not racist and show me more respect then this. I’m Diamond with Hilton and will stay this way with them. Marriott will never see a dime of my money. If you have any disabilities or black do not stay here.
Really good hotel

Loved the bed! Large, comfortable, well-appointed bedroom/suite. Very clean and modern bathroom. Lobby has numerous sitting areas. Really good fitness center for a hotel this size. Adequate buffet breakfast. Quiet!! Friendly staff. Good, free parking. Centrally located.
