Not Ready for Us
What would you say about a hotel where you had advance reservations and when you arrived well after check-in time and you were given rooms that weren’t cleaned yet from the last guests? Or, you were checked-in rooms that had recently had a fire and still smelled so bad from smoke that you couldn’t stay there? Nearly everyone had to move rooms. That was our experience with this hotel. Check out was also disorganized. The poor front desk clerk was there by herself and apologized over and over and tried to help as best she could. Oh, did I mention that I had 17 rooms booked for a group? While the hotel was clean, there was still a bag breakfast while the other Hampton Inn’s we stayed at offered a semi-hot breakfast. Finally, the negotiated room rate was much higher at this Hampton on a Sunday night than the other Hamptons we stayed at during the week. So if I were you, I’d find another hotel in the area. As a Hilton Honors member, I was very disappointed in this hotel.
Would not recommend
They gave 4 pillows that are very flat, there were 4 people at our stay and we went asking for extra, we were told on the nights the hotel is fully booked, they never have extra pillows... Either buy better pillows so you don’t need more than one, or stock up on more flat pillows. Secondly, there was mold coming out of the jets of the jacuzzi tub. Very disappointing and disgusting. Lastly, the breakfast is in a brown paper bag. What happened to continental breakfast? Don’t say Covid because buffets are clearly open..
Manager letting us leave was the best part of the experience...
We made this reservation far in advance for two nights at the regular rate, which at the time was 120 per night plus tax. The check in time is at 3pm. We did mobile check in for 3pm and arrived at the hotel at 2:46pm. Clerk said the room is not ready and couldn’t tell us when it’s going to be ready. Few minutes later, the manager came to talk to us and said that he is sending 3 housekeepers up to clean our room. He said it should be another 10-15 minutes. We unloaded our luggage and took a seat in the lobby. They kept telling us that’s it’s going to be another 10 minutes, another ten minutes, another, etc. We said we would take a different floor, but manager said that the room on another floor is not ready either. It was almost 4pm and we were sitting in a lobby with our luggage. We asked the manager if we would get a discount on the first night if we keep waiting ( we didn’t want to spend the night in the lobby ) Manager said that since the price went up since we booked from 120 to 149, we won’t get a discount. Room was still not available and as much as we wanted to stay and we are Hilton diamond members, we asked the manager if he would allow us to leave without penalty. He agreed right away and we truly appreciate it. It was very nice of him to do this, because we just couldn’t keep sitting in a lobby indefinitely.
Loud Bar Next Door
Just completed a multi-night stay at this property during a visit to Hot Springs. Checked in using the app and thus straight to the room. Toilet handle was completley broken, so had to go back down to switch rooms. Front desk was very apologetic and moved me with no issues. The room was in good shape. A real issue, and beyond the property’s control was that a bar located in the strip mall across the street had loud music blaring each night until the early morning hours. Since my only need for the room was to sleep, this basically made the entire stay worthless. If you are a light sleeper and/or have kids, you will not be able to sleep. I can’t give a good rating simply because it was impossible to sleep there. Basically, I paid $150 a night for nothing. Breakfast was grab and go bags which is understandable in the Covid-19 era. However, most mornings no one was at the front desk and at best one bag was sitting out. Three mornings in a row the same thing. The contents of the bag were limited. Coffee in the lobby was hit or miss. First two mornings they were out by 8am. So that was a bust. Had a bath towel folded up with the other “clean” ones with makeup on it in the room. This is the second Hilton family property I have been to in 2020 that left a dirty towel in the room, folded as if clean. Hilton Corporate needs to be better with its franchise standards. You have signs all over your properties and in the room proclaiming your “enhanced cleaning” and “disinfectant” methods yet you fold and place dirty towels in your guest rooms during a worldwide pandemic? I don’t believe you are sanitizing anything! But thanks to the bar and it’s music, if you intend to get some sleep, you should look elsewhere.
Mrs
Accosted by a homeless man in the lobby and outside. He scared me outside. He ran towards me. Then proceeded to yell at me then went back in the lobby. The front desk agent let’s him in to use the bathroom. He was outside hanging around every night I was there. Next morning went to use lobby restroom it was nasty. Someone had Urinated on the floor and wall. Trash on the floor. Same night a woman’s car was damaged in the parking lot. I could have stayed somewhere else a lot cheaper. I’ve never stayed at a Hampton this poorly run. House keeping staff was awesome. At check out the receipt was printed in someone else’s name. The lady working had no idea how to change it. She said she could call corporate to see if they can fix it but she might be on hold for 30 minutes. I couldn’t wait. Rooms were nice.
