Need to wait
Until this hotel is completely rehabed, I don't give it a high review. The entry is wonderful, but it ends there. It is either a rehabed hotel or an old Holiday Inn that is in need of rehab. It is laid out strangely, the fixures are outdated. Don't blame the staff, they are friendly and helpful. Nonetheless, I would wait before I stayed here again.
Could be better
Even though it’s half way under renovations the hotel is cozy to stay. Staff is very helpful. But the complimentary breakfast could be a lot better. There was no turkey sausage. No hard boiled eggs. Also there were not enough utensils out to get food items. The worker was not worried about guests just what he had to do for work. The layout other than that was nice. I do hope that this location does improve in the next few weeks. Especially since this one is very advert for Airport travelers.
This has been our go-to hotel the night before we fly, or the night we come in late. One of our favorite people there is Miss Vanessa who make breakfast a joy. On our last trip in December we did not have a reservation but Rachelle checked us in, even when it took a while to find our record. She was kind and efficient, manning phone calls and attending to other guests while she was helping us. It's just a really pleasant experience.
This hotel was very nice. I think it was being remodeled, but still was nice. The king size bed was so comfortable to sleep in. The room was very comfy. The check in was smooth. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay in Little Rock, Arkansas. Oh and the breakfast was excellent. There was a pancake machine that was cool.
They Stole My Wristwatch!!! (Other than that, it was fine.)
My wife and I stayed overnight (Dec 20 - Dec 21, 2019) at the Holiday Inn Express Little Rock, 3121 Bankhead Drive, near the Little Rock Airport, in Room 120. Interestingly, overall the hotel looked good -- modern, clean, bright, excellent common areas and dining area. Friendly staff. But it seems like they spent the entire budget on the common areas; once you get into the rooms, they look and feel like a throwback to the late 70s: small dark rooms, outdated furnishings, only two accessible electrical outlets. Don't let the exterior fool you -- the rooms are in serious need of a makeover. They WERE clean, though. My main beef is with the dishonest housekeeping staff, though. We checked out of our room at 8:40 am to continue our drive east. A couple of hours later I realized that I had taken my smartwatch off the night before and put it on the night table, but never touched it the morning we left. Fortunately, I realized this before the next day's guests could have checked in, and since we locked the room when we left it, it should be simple enough to have the staff secure the watch and I could pick it up when we passed by on our return trip, in a week's time. Right? Unfortunately, no: When I called, I was told by "Rochelle," at the front desk, that the housekeeping staff did not see my watch. I asked her to have them double-check, as it may have fallen behind the night table (I knew it did not, but I wanted to offer a plausible excuse so they could suddenly "find it.") I even offered a $50 reward. After about a 45 minute wait, Rochelle put on the Executive Housekeeper, who explained that she had gone into the room before the actual cleaning staff and she did not notice it. She had gone back after I called and looked over, under, and behind things, but no watch. What more could I say? There is absolutely -- absolutely -- no way possible that my watch was NOT in that room, and if they truly looked, there is very little possibility they would not have found it. Conclusion: I believe the Little Rock Airport Holiday Inn Express has thieves on their staff, and someone's boyfriend (or girlfriend) got a very nice, if slightly used, Samsung smartwatch for an early Christmas present. But that's just my opinion, based on the facts as I've described them. Don't say I didn't warn you. Also, the breakfast buffet was good, but I'd avoid the pork sausage (very greasy), although the turkey sausage was quite good.
