Excellent Place to Stay in Ashland
Avaliou em 20 de setembro de 2020
I stayed here one year ago for 5 days and I loved it so I returned and had a remarkable 2 nights here. The WiFi is a 10 out of 10 so you can get some work done while you’re relaxing in your room. Comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with a nice shower. Good air flow too. Table and chairs, new TV, and nice view of the trees. Enjoyed the fridge, air con and quiet. Don’t go anywhere else you’ve found everything you need right here. Ashland has many over priced places to stay that don’t even have decent WiFi/ don’t make the mistake of staying in those places as this family who owns this property truly cares about you and gives you incredible customer service. I feel at home here. Good price too for what you get here. Ample places to park, close to downtown! I’ll return again.

Yeah, "quirky" pretty well describes it

If I were to guess, I'd say that this was an old motel, purchased by one or more recent college graduates, perhaps from SOU across the street. As others mentioned, the management and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The furnishings are spartan, and many of them remind me of things we got my daughter when setting her up in her first off-campus apartment. No desk. No closet, but a metal rack with hangers and shelf space. As a result, horizontal storage space is a bit tight, though it was enough for two of us. The bed felt old when I first sat on it, but it was actually fairly comfortable. No decorations on the walls, but multiple paint colors. The bathroom was fine, and obviously updated. Overall; minimal, but functional. The most annoying thing was the room key--it took me a while to not-quite master the correct combination of insert, pull out slightly, turn, pull out a tiny bit more and turn again that was needed to open the door. That had me a bit nervous about getting back late from a play, when no-one would be in the office to help us. But I got it to work after a little fiddling. No breakfast. There is a good, albeit expensive breakfast place next door, where we ate on an earlier trip. This time, we ate across town, where we were meeting somebody. If we weren't, we would have just made use of the fridge and microwave in the room. Not sure if they have free wifi. I saw a locked network, but they didn't give me a password when I checked in. Wasn't worried about it, given that I had lots of data, and we were mostly interested in seeing a play. Overall, I'd definitely stay there again if I only needed a room for a night or two, and my preferred locations weren't available. But it's not my style for longer stays. It might be more for you if you're either in school or have only recently graduated. Or if you're older, but want to harken back to the days of crashing out in your college friend's apartment.

Not so good as it was...

I have been here 5 years ago and at this time I rated this place very good. This year, I was really disappointed. the first room I was assigned to was not very clean, and I refused it because of poor cleanliness. Than I have been to room #206, it was ok, but nothing special. Are there new owners? this was such a nice and special place but now it is only a standard, mediocre motel, and not very clean and well maintained. And, wifi was terrible and out of service most of the time. very annoying!

An Accomadation that has seen better days

We had a last minute change of plans and could not get a room in one of our two usual Ashland places to stay so we booked a one night stay in the M Ashland Motel. The staff are very nice and helpful but the accommodations are ridiculous for the price. The room was not exactly clean--part of the bedding seemed stained and the mattress was not centered on the boxspring (and could not be centered.) The old fridge froze our yogurt. There was no holder for the toilet paper roll. There was no coffee pot (although we could walk to the office and get a 12-cup pot, filters, and mugs, but no coffee.) There is some Ikea-type furniture that is a break from the usual motel-chic but it's flimsy and uncomfortable. The money would be better spent on a bedside table on both sides, an air conditioner that doesn't sound like a hurricane,a bed that isn't dying, and a standard of cleanliness above slovenly. We usually stay in a much cleaner, more comfortable, and less expensive motel down the road that is also vintage but in excellent shape. Go there. Forget this place.

Sweetest Staff in Town

So, the place is a little run down but it is clean, affordable, and by far has the sexiest staff around. All of the employees I saw during my stay were young, beautiful girls. They were all so friendly and helpful i would recommend this place to any my friends simply because of the awesome service. Thanks Ladies
