You can find better places to stay

First the good: the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the room reminded me of a college dorm room. The floors are tile, the furnishings are exterior mounted shelves and bins; there is a refrigerator and hot plate, but absolutely no utensils, plates, or anything else. There is no coffee pot, and certainly no coffee. There is a chair and bed. The furnishings are cheap and prefabricated. The hotel supposedly has 24 hour front desk coverage, but between 4:30 Am and 5:30 Am as we were leaving, there was no one there. At the same time the doors were unlocked and available for anyone to enter. Finally, this place is very expensive considering the quality of the facility and service. I would not recommend this place nor would I ever stay there again.

Jesse Ledesma (asst general mgr) went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. I highly recommend the hotel. Conveniently located. The staff is fantastic! Looking for a great and affordable hotel in Austin? Look no further - book your stay here.

"Over-booked" is NOT the same as "We Flat out Gave it Away"

Booked and Confirmed reservation number in July 2021, for upcoming past weekends MotoGP races October 1, 2, 3rd 2021. Arrive at 5:45 pm Friday with my middle school aged son. (it was an act of congress to get his mother to let him go and skip school Friday, so we were both really looking forward to the event)- Anyway, was told that they "over-booked" and no longer had our room reserved, that it was simply a matter of "first come, first served" this weekend because of multiple events going on in Austin, Tx this weekend... Then as I'm standing there trying to understand how and why.. Gwen, front desk girl, and her co-worker start talking over me, and not even allowing me to finish my sentences...as if I had somehow inconvienced them and was starting to annoy her. And to make matters even worse, some construction guy staying there (i assume they are friends with him), walks by the front desk and on his way by, says "Just get over it and move along and smiles at the two young ladies behind the desk, one name was GWEN, not sure the other one, but both were un-empathetic to the unexpected situation I had just found myself in. In fact, one of them, (taller black girl behind desk) smiled and rolled her eyes at the Construction dude. Of Couse, this illicits a verbal response to the construction guy who had by this time moved on out to the pool or bar or whatever, and GWEN suddenly goes "thats it! I'm calling the police- you can't talk rude to a guest of this hotel... So she calls her manager for me to get the information i needed for voucher and directions to another hotel they were directing all of thier "over-booked guests." And at the same time GWEN is on the phone with someone ( I presume the Police but I seriously doubt it), telling my clothes and physical description to someone. I left there shocked and bewildered as the had actually sent me a text the night before our trip saying "hope youre all packed for your stay with us", and I had Paid them $626.49 We ultimately, ended up staying in my truck the first night, but was able to find another hotel the second and third nights luckily. I would not ever recommend this hotel chain to anyone else, unfortunately I believe this kind of bad corporate business culture ( or lack there of) flows from the very top of the organization downward. Stay-Away America.

Caution: "Reserve" does not mean what you think

I have never left a review for a hotel before, but I need to share my experience to save other families from the poor treatment we received at the Extended Stay America (ESA) (Austin Airport). I booked three rooms for three families DIRECTLY through ESA on July 3, 2021 for our visit on Oct 1-4. I then called two weeks before our visit to confirm the reservation (press "0" for the actual front desk, "4" does not take you there). I received promotional emails during this time including ones with the titles "We can't wait to see you" and "See You Tomorrow!". Then we all arrived at 5:00 PM on the day of check-in. We were told that the hotel was overbooked and they did not have any rooms for us. They said they did not have my contact information to let me know because I booked through Expedia (not true, I booked through the ESA representative over the phone). We purposely book this hotel because of its proximity to an event we were attending. They said they reserved us rooms at another ESA (on the other side of Austin, TX). Because I had lost all trust in ESA, I had them call the other ESA front desk to confirm. Of course, the other front desk didn't know who we were and were not expecting us. Also, if we went to the other hotel there would not be any discount. I can't imagine working for a business where I turn away customers who booked their stay (for a large group) 3 months earlier. I would feel awful about myself. Thankfully, it was before 6 PM on the day of check in, so I could cancel the reservation and get a refund. Only "reserve" your stay here if you want to be without a room at 5 PM on the day of check in with tired/hangry kids in the car! I will never stay at another ESA facility. Let's hear what excuse the GM gives in response to this review. How can your front desk staff say they had no way to contact me when I am still getting emails from ESA and I called twice? I will not give ESA another chance as you say in your responses to all the other TERRIBLE reviews. Change your business model of overbooking first.

The hotel was nice, but a little small and over priced for nothing to be going on in the city. The male and female managers aren't professional whatsoever. I had a problem with him about a service dog. Then him and the female accused me of smoking and smoke was coming out of my door which was a lie because I don't smoke. The only good service is housekeeping, and the people working the front desk. The managers are very rude, I wouldn't advise anyone to stay at the Extended Stay America by the airport. 1311 Commerce Dr, Austin, Tx. I don't know about the rest but this one will never get another cent of my money. Plus, it's a colony of homeless people right across the street who will break into your vehicle if you're not careful.
