This was the nicest place we have stayed at so far. Here are the highlights:
-Wonderful suite size
-Loved the dual tv setup in suite area and bedroom
-Extremely clean room
- Comfortable beds
-Simple but really nice breakfast
-Internet was decent
-Troy (front desk) and Christina (breakfast) in particular were fantastic
- No dog smell in halls - a problem normally of pet-friendly hotels - everything smelled fresh and clean; I have pets and have travelled with them - but this is typically an ick thing
-Marriott in general has the worst coffee. :) Not this location's fault. They need to find a different coffee company to work with because the coffee is weak and terrible. Be prepared to bring your own along and use the coffee maker in the room.
- Breakfast when Christina was not there was not as well stocked
- We had a "king suite"; apparently that didn't mean a king bed. I don't know if this was a mistake or if the beds are generally smaller. I am not sure if ours was a full or a queen but seemed small in comparison especially to the huge room.
- OK and this is a bratty thing - but I really think hotels in general need to start providing a streaming from your devices option - TV should have ability to stream from your phone or laptop or iPad. This wasn't a flaw of this location but I'm guessing all of the Mariotts. I know it would be an expensive overhaul - but I want to be able to stream easily without connecting my Netflix account on their TV (you can log in with your own credentials on their TV).
Gavin is Awesome

If you are looking for a good clean hotel this is where you need to stay. The hotel is always clean and bright. Gavin that works up front is on point and make sure you thank him for his service! He was an Army guy.
Long time stay with great staff!!

Okay. Here is my long post of my time here and the interactions I had with the staff!
So I lived here for more than a month and from the first night I checked in, until the last- I had the best interactions with everyone!
From checking in late with Gavin and Jay, they were so kind and welcoming right from the beginning. Even though they were flooded with phone calls, and late night shift. Check in was easy, quick, but also made me feel at ease. It was a rough week for me, so just the way they greeted me was so kind.
It didn’t stop there. I met Evan, Travis, Mariana, and Emily! All exceptional and didn’t just treat me as a person staying there- they became my friends. They remembered my name! I work in hospitality and remembering guests names is HUGE and goes such a long way!
Let me break this down even further into what I appreciate about everyone.
Here I go!
Gavin- he was so kind from the beginning and even though he had been on the phone for hours when I got there- he still was welcoming and didn’t let the frustrations, or stress keep him from being friendly. He remembered my name right away and asked how I was and not only asked as a small talk- but he asked because he cared. He wanted to know about me. I remember one night I was sitting outside at the table, and he came outside to say hi and talk to me. I didn’t know anyone in Austin, so for him to do that was just what I needed. And throughout my entire stay, he was exceptional and we became friends and I will not fail to mention that he was professional and hospitable. Definitely an asset to the team!
Jay- he was also so welcoming and kind and caring. He worked night audit and I worked the late shift at work, so when I got back to the hotel after work, he was usually there! He always asked how I was, and gave me great advice about work and shared some of his stories with me and where he came from and how he got to where he was.
I really appreciated him and his kindness spoke volumes and like Gavin, he is also an asset to the team and in this industry, we need more people like Jay!
Evan- literally was always a joy! I loved interacting with him and he always spoke with positivity and ready to help/ do whatever was needed. I always asked to get into the gym and for coffee- both which he just knew what I wanted when I stopped by the front. He even put a list of bars in Austin that he recommended I try out! Unfortunately I never got to, but the fact that he took time to write them down for me, literally was so sweet. Also- he often would work in housekeeping to help out that team and even though he was always running around busy, he did it with a good attitude!! Evan like Gavin and Jay, is a total joy and another asset to the team!
Emily- I adore her! We clicked right away and spent quite a bit of time throughout my stay just talking. It was fun for me to talk to someone about life and to have pretty much and instant friend!! The fact that, though she was busy, yet made time to talk to me was so sweet to my heart!!! She also always remembered my name and always had a good attitude- even in different shifts that she had!!! Another asset to the team and a total joy and professional!!
Travis and Mariana-managers at the hotel. Totally great!!! From always getting me coffee practically everyday, getting my stay extended, getting me quarters for laundry, and unlocking the gym for me everyday. They were so kind and also cared about me and my life. I loved that I got to talk football with Travis, and about cute comfy clothes with Mariana.
I’ll close with this. I never intended to stay at this hotel- but God had a different plan. Austin was hard for me, but God used them to help make my days seem less difficult. Even through all the COVID restrictions and frustrations it brings- they were professional about everything and made sure it was running as smoothly as possible!
And because they didn’t stop at just me being another guest- I now have life long friends!

I just realized why I'm so upset again the initial thread in this email is you stating
"Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. I understand how inconvenient the water issue was, that's why our Assistant GM and myself offered to move you to a different room a few different times during your stay. I know you we could have provided you the comfort level you have grown to expect with Marriott. "
You are Blaming me, holding the paying customer in contempt for poor business practices. I wasn't even informed until Sunday evening at 9:30pm that your maintenance man couldn't fix it until Monday so at the very least 2 of these nights are absolutely on TownePlace. The other two nights I guess might be my fault since I have deep rooted fear and anxiety issues that inhibit me from a normal pattern of life and refused to move to the room you were treating with ozone to mask the smell of water damage.
I absolutely Love to Write and My Best Friend and Rabbi has been insisting that I do so more often... at least he will be pleased.

This location of Townhome suites by far has the best customer service! From the moment I walked in to check in thru the entire stay, this group was outstanding. Any time I am in Austin area and need a place to stay this for sure will be one to check with.
