Hotel simples

Amazing location, very uncomfortable

So I stayed here for 2 weeks and got to know the place well. Here's the good and the bad.... Pros: large comfortable bungalow, good aircon, shower, hanging space. Room cleaned daily. Very nice staff, everyone is very friendly and helpful and as a solo traveller this was great Food in the restaurant is really good, and they'll bring it to you're room! Prices are the usual and portions large The bay is truly stunning, best in lanta. Cons: I am 52 with a sore back. There is not one cushion, comfortable seat, lounger, umbrella anywhere. They only have upright rock hard wooden seats....everywhere. I had to lie on my bed to be comfortable. There is NO shade on this beach, nowhere to sit and read, be in the shade or relax. Only hard seats in the restaurant. I really don't understand this. I saw many people arrive on scooters for the day, look around, then leave in 10mins. I moved up to Khlong Khong where everywhere has hammocks, soft cushions, sun beds, etc etc. And it's the same in the Why Not bar attached, no chairs or soft cushions and rolls, just a hard floor with thin hard cushions....crazy.... As much as the place was beautiful and the staff lovely, if they can't be bothered to make it comfortable I won't be back.

Pleasant last minute getaway

We booked last minute looking for a one night getaway (with air con!) from the place we were staying further up the island. Initially a little unsure what to expect from the other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. Reception staff were welcoming, and although they hadn’t got our booking details yet, it was quickly resolved and we were given a great room with a sea view. The room was very comfortable, and great value for money for the prime location on beautiful Kantiang Bay. The on site Why Not Bar is perfect too for a few beers while the sun sets.

No room cleaning or restocking toilet paper

Kantiang Bay View Resort is located between a super expensive resort and hotel next door. With the Why Not Bar on the premises it’s a place where one stays on the same meticulously kept beach of the high-end resort and neighboring hotel for a friendly price. No swimming pool, but right on the beach. There are no loungers nor umbrella which can make it very warm. The landscape could be better, but it’s something that didn’t bother me too much; rhe beach view is stunning, so why nitpick on a futile detail like a garden. We arrived. The front desk area seems to be used for different purposes; while checking in, a group of women were rolling spring rolls at a table while chatting. It gave it a homey feeling. We booked through Booking.com after we visited the place to check out the room in person. The manager walked us to our room and initially wanted to give us a different room; make sure it’s the room you really booked. Manager isn’t unfriendly, but the ubiquitous Thai friendly smile isn’t there... After 3 days staying here it just turns the rooms will not be cleaned, there won’t be any clean towels except for the two we got upon arrival, I had to ask for a refill of toilet paper. For 3 nights we paid $165. It’s not super expensive nor is it super cheap. The least would be to have clean towels or stock up on toilet paper. The Why Not Bar on the premises is an absolute great place. It attracts lots of guests from neighboring hotels with excellent food, wonderful staff and entertainment. They open around 11am, from that moment it’s busy till closing time. My favorite food would definitely be the green curry with prawn, their club sandwich puts many in the USA to shame. Inside the bar there’s a cute jewelry shop, owned by French Kiki. Hotel is ok. Not sure I’d return here.
