I had a great experience. The staff, reception and waiters, are super friendly. The rooms are luxurious and the SPA area is super nice! So nice in fact, we spent most of the time there. The restaurant offers excellent food for great prices. Hint: ask for a table in the Loystubn. We were even greeted Personal by the boss of the Hotel. Made us feel like VIPs :)

Lovely hotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim with great service and food

Avaliou em 27 de agosto de 2020

The Pulverer hotel is a lovely hotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim. + the staff is absolutely great. Service very good. + the food tasted good. Also the cakes and tarts during tea time worth trying it. Very good choice at breakfast + spa and swimming pool good. + we arrived without a reservation but a room was quickly prepared for us. + very clean room, but the beds were not that great and what we expected from a 5* hotel - the shower is not good at all and what we expected when having a junior suite. If you are longer than 1,75 you don't fit in under the shower! The showers at the pool are better than in your own room. - there is very limited Corona prevention at the hotel. But we could have expected that there was nothing mentioned at the website or during the inquirie by email.

Great staff, great place. Only small "negative" thing: there was not so much choice for breakfast, I would have expected something more! Overall very clean and tidy, the pool area is nice and well furnished.

Mostly OK.

This is very a hotel of two halves. Some elements are excellent, other less so. It's extensive with well-kept grounds and facilties. It's comfortable and clean. Our junior suite was ok but the bed was a little soft for our liking and the wide use of synthetic bedding made nights slightly uncomfortable. The room had been recently refurbished but was a trifle austere. The public rooms were fine but not heavily used. The spa faciltiies were a combination of very new (the salt hamman for example) or the older. Some of the latter were looking a little tired and dated. The indoor and outdoor pools were fine. On the catering front dinners in the restaurant were excellent and they'd taken the ubiquitous Austrian salads to a whole new level. (Fish featured heavily and was excellent and the meats equally so with a extensive variety on both counts.) Breakfasts were disappointing though compared to other hotels and the service and both breakfast and inner could be a little chaotic and disorganised. They also ran out of croissant one morning and alcohol-free beer (for my wife) one evening. The staff were generally fine (housekeeping excepted - they were first-class) but some could be distant and aloof. There was little however by way of rapport with us (we were the only British guests we saw in the 2 weeks we stayed) but it was also lacking elsewhere with others. You don't expect the staff to become firm friends but you do expect some interaction and interest, even if they don't mean it. Whilst it's a good hotel I have some reservations about whether the 5 star rating is entirely appropriate. There was a lack of warmth and sociability and there was something missing, although I can't put my finger on exactly what it was. We left very early (6:45) and for a 5 star hotel you'd expect something resembling a breakfast. We received a packed lunch (prepared the day before) and managed to extract a cup of tea each and that was all. Finally a word or two on the area. The tourist infrastructure is not as well developed as that in NW Austria. The two local cable cars are, respectively, a 30 and 90 minute walk away, the latter on a strenuous uphill path. Public transport is virtually non-existent (at least in the summer) and the widely advertised Nockmobil taxi expensive. Mountains alms are often closed in the summer with the exception of those at the top of the cable car stations. It's a peaceful area though and the hotel itself was very quiet (in terms of noise). But neither it nor the surrounding area had enough going for it to make us want to return.
