great family run place in the middle of nowhere

perched more than 3000 ft up in the black forest the nationalpark schiffkopf hotel is truly unique. away from the hustle and bustle. if you like long walks, fresh air, spa, wellness, this family run hotel with its great cuisine and all day pampering is for you. amazing views also a strong feature.

An unexpected surprise. Excellent restaurant to stop on the road. Great food, with ample choices in the menu. The service was great, by friendly and efficient servers.. We all enjoyed our stop very much Prices were very reasonable

A disappointing fourth stay

We stayed for three nights 1st March to 4th March 2016. This was our FOURTH visit to this Hotel. All the good things I have previously mentioned in my reviews were just as good. However a rather strange thing occurred. As is normal you are allocated a table for Breakfast and Dinner and you keep that table for the duration of your stay. On our fist evening (Tuesday) our table was at the end of a small side room. As the stay continued this area emptied of guests, as did other area. Finally on our last evening we were on our own! Perhaps we were slow to understand what was happening but we felt very isolated for the last Dinner and Breakfast. In addition as there were no other guests eating in this area we hardly saw any of the waiting staff. The issue was mentioned during the last evening to staff, but the following morning at breakfast we were seated at the same isolated table! My wife and I felt we had been ignored and this situation surely occurs at other times with other guests and should have been addressed. I am writing this review 9 months later as we were still considering a fifth visit. Now we have decided to go elsewhere I feel free to write this so that others may be aware as the Hotel appeared not to be.

It's a nice hotel , nice location. Easy to find , big room , clean toilets , awesome sauna , swimming pool and wellness options , the staff are awesome , if you like a certain plate they sure will make it for you , on the first night at dinner which was a 5 course , asked if they had Black Forest cake and surprised us by having two big pieces on the 2 nd night , came back very relaxed

You find a wonderefull location, very plendid rooms, famous meels and beverage that all in a lanscape in whole and preserved nature gratefull arranged possibilities of all kind of wellness treatmets with people that like their job and do it very professionnaly ..
