Stayed here for 4 nights. The price was affordable for 2 pax. We did not get the room we requested for during our first night in the hotel. However, they moved us to a new room the next morning. Rooms that are far from the reception desk, do not have wifi. Water heater took a long time to heat up, we informed the staff of the situation and they were quick to respond but the heater broke down again the next day. Our second room was bigger but smelled like cigarettes. Tv channels are awesome as we have access to so many channels. It's within walking distance to Paris van java and there's a groceries store right next to the hotel that sells delicious pastries. However, our supir commented that the hotel is quite far from the city center. Btw, if u need a driver, here's a guy who drives safely with affordable price. We were charged 400k rupiah per day n he took us to sari ater hotspring, tangkuban perahu, floating market, dusun bambu, kampung Daun n toko 3 jeans. Caryota Hotel Review
My fiance and myself recently stayed at this hotel and I must say the outside of the hotel is OK however we were in for a shock. I admit, I have stayed at hotels in New Zealand, USA, Singapore and Australia and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Hotel staff were friendly enough however we found the quality of the rooms shocking or poor at best. Windows are open to the outside and the hallway which results in noise from the road and other rooms being audible within your room. Noise from the road is shocking and we could not sleep at night. In my country, smoking is 'BANNED" in all buildings and outside buildings. Here smoking in rooms or the hotel lobby was the norm. This wafts into your room so that the room you are in becomes choked with toxic smoke. Smoking causes a litany of cancers and this hotel could potentially be sued should someone become sick and launch a successful civil case in the Courts. The rooms contains no kettle to make a cup of tea, no tea bags, no fresh water 'Nothing". Breakfast - What breakfast. It did not exist or was extra and we found it poor quality on the day we did have breakfast. We paid first which was quite expensive for what you get. I would rate this hotel 1 Star - Not 3 Star. The swimming pool had no water, lifts did not always work or were turned off. Hot water - Had to call reception to have it turned on. This is shocking. We have never experienced such a farce. Reception was unattended at times - 'Dangerous indeed" should the hotel get robbed. My conclusion - "DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL".
Room at the first floor is narrow and dark, but hot water shower was good. Breakfast was not much variety, fried rice or chicken porridge. I saw there was indoor swimming pool, but no water during my stay. Location is good.
A good budget stay
Stayed here twice, once in 2007 with friends and recently in October with family. Booked 3 rooms on the ground floor. Rooms were clean, enough space for us to pray, bathrooms were clean with hot showers available. It was quiet, maybe because it was mid-week. Breakfast was simple, with the choice of either toast with butter & jam or fried rice. But since I used to live in Bandung for 6 years, I went to Hasan Sadikin Hospital area to get breakfast. Look for Bubur Pak Omar! The porridge has always been delicious & filling. Or you can just walk outside the hotel, plenty of warong serving local dishes if you don't mind eating by the roadside. There was a pool but empty on both times I stayed there, so don't bother bringing your swimming suit. The entrance had steps, so those with wheelchair bound family member, you need to carry them to enter the hotel. But the real plus point of this hotel was the location. In front of the hotel was CIMB ATM, cross the road and you've arrived at Zen Spa (you need to go there, seriously!), Paris Van Java was just 5 minutes walk. You can even walk to Rumah Mode from the hotel. So if you're not a fussy traveller, you'll like this hotel.
GOOD LOCATION, BIG ROOM
