Only if desperate

As other people have stated, really you do not want to be staying here unless you are stuck! The rooms are dirty, no towels provided unless you pay, shower cold. I checked in late which I stated when booking (23.30) and they were annoyed with me for this, also telling me it was very late and people were sleeping and it should be quiet, despite the fact very loud music was playing just outside the door and I was travel weary wishing only to go to bed. The immediate area is full of lady boys and yes in a Muslim community, the latter being indifferent to me but if you are looking for Thai restaurants etc this is not the place. I would not stay again, it wasn't even particularly cheap!

Grand Lucky is a nice enough place. Hardly luxurious, but acceptable, low priced, and very friendly and accommodating staff. Walking distance from many good places to eat and drink, including Check Inn 99, the best night club in Bangkok
Only book if your desperate and looking for somewhere at last minute to stay.

After realising I made a booking error for another hotel in Soi 11 which should have been 14 Nov and not 17th Nov. I tried to see if THAT hotel had a room but alas no. So after doing a bit of research found Grand Lucky Hotel. Ok had a walk but not going to moan. But soon discovering soi 3 is mainly an Arabic area of Bangkok. Not moaning about that as do not have an issue at all. But entering the hotel I seemed to have been put in a time machine and walked into the 1970's. Hotel looks tired and the awful decor just made it look more depressing. Lucky it was only one night but still. Hotel room was small but had what it needed but decor was even worse. Olive Green flock wallpaper and wooden furniture that is fit for an antiques store. Only modern things besides a kettle was the fridge and TV. Also note with the fridge. Yes they do supply water. Normal and Evian. Normal water free. Evian not free in fact was charged 80 baht for flushing my gob when brushing my teeth with posh water. So be aware. Only praise I have is the staff. 2 ladies were lovely but can understand why they feel bored when the interior looks tired and some of the other guests look equally miserable or just stare. Only use if YOUR desperate.
Last Place to stay

If you have no other option and you may go for it .The rooms are very small ,the internet seldom works which the staff claims free, the location is very crowded, and there is no breakfast. The hotel staff miss guides you regarding taxi hiring if you book from them they will charge about 4 times more than what actual is . Only good thing about the hotel is you can aval the sky train and go anywhere .
Friendly Staff, Well Priced Budget Choice, Needs a Thorough Scrub

No doubting this is a budget hotel. Location slightly tucked away in a bustling soi off Sukhumvit Road, easy for the skytrain, nightlife, and shopping. This is the heart of an Arabic area. Staff are friendly and very helpful, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Walls in particular between bedrooms and bathrooms (I have stayed in several) are nothing short of grimy and the locations around wastebaskets look shameful. You wouldn't want to touch either area. They may have a cockroach problem too although I only saw one scuttling across... a bed. There really is no excuse for any of the above. Grand Lucky suffers hygiene problems which is a shame because overall the place is fair value against price. Management need to take lessons from a couple of spotlessly cleaned neighbouring restaurants and give the place a thorough scrub top to bottom.
