Convenient Place just above Huay Khwang MRT

Avaliou em 18 de dezembro de 2019

Checking In was a breeze and there was a PC for you to use 30mins daily at the reception floor. Room and Toilet was ok, the usual standard. Bed is a little too low but comfortable mattress. Wifi is good too. No Breakfast in this hotel and No room service too. There is a Pub just directly at the entrance (small entrance) of the Hotel. There is a Huay Kwang Night Market just around the corner and sells good street food and clothings and Massage Palour too. The Famous God Ganesha Shine is just a 2mins walk from the hotel entrance. Metro Station Huay Kwang is just below the Hotel. Conveniently to places like Rachada Train Night Market, only one station away ( Thai Cultural Station) and 5 stations away to the New Mixt Chatuchat Mall ( Chatuchat Park ), which is just behind the famous Chatuchat Weedend Market. Mixt Chatuchat Mall is Open Daily.

No mattress on bed. One inch pad on box springs. No hot water, but Bangkok is so hot you will not miss it. Everything about hotel is ok. Next to Metro. Exciting area. However, the is no mattress on bed. I wake up in pain everyday. See photo of mattress pad. About one inch thick. Sleeping on floor could be softer. Whole hotel has no mattresses.

I really don't mind this place; it isn't that bad.

Yes, the crucial electrical sockets don't work. Yes, the downlights are dark. Yes, the TV channels are limited. But these didn't irk me. You just make do. There are plenty of plus points at this no-frills hotel. Service is courteous. The receptionists are wonderful to talk to for information. The location is great - just next to the MRT station. The neighbourhood is charming, next to a popular temple and plenty of roadside stalls. It isn't expensive, so please don't ask for too much.

Stay at your own risk and health

First, the pros: 1. Location. Fantastic location, right on top of the Huai Khwang MRT, which makes it very easy to get around 2. "Efficient" service. You get a reminder call at Exactly 12pm, asking if you are checking out. And the cons: - Gaudy interior design (red/black/white/schizo theme) - lack of decent cable TV (only a smattering of non-relevant channels - non-existent wifi (luckily could use my data plan throughout stay - 'binary' shower with only 2 modes : ice and boiling - bed is super hard; pillows quite the opposite - power point/socket: only 1 that was of any use, and even then, plugging in was a nightly nightmare - if you are unlucky (as I was) to get a room facing the road, you get noise from both the road, and the beer garden downstairs Will I be back? What do you think???
