A short but very comfortable - and memorable - stay

Avaliou em 17 de agosto de 2022

We couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome on our journey from Carole. The room was spacious and comfortable; and the homemade and local produce at breakfast was delicious. The history of the farm is fascinating - incredible to see how nearby one of the trenches ran during World War One. We hope we will be able to return one day to spend a bit longer in the area.

Simple and comfortable

We were journeying down from Calais and stopped off here for the night with an early start the following morning. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly hostess who will love to talk about the local history and the war graves. A few nice walks in the area and definitely dig friendly.

Road trip stop-off

Trip Advisor review/recommendations strike again! A wonderful charismatic farm with some amazing history, run by a very welcoming couple. A peaceful setting, quiet room and everything needed for a stop over en route to the south. We arrived kinda late, left kinda early, but we were helped in on arrival and provided a breakfast to ‘take away’ before leaving....mostly home made and very more-ish. The price, the quality, the welcome, there was no reason to score less.

Met by enthusiastic Carole, in this working farm which was totally rebuilt after being shelled in the war. Room had all the facilities and breakfast was great with a vast choice including home made preserves and yoghurt. Totally recommended

The location is in easy close access from a nearby autoroute so it's very convenient. The property is a beautiful very grand old farmhouse in excellent condition. There are numerous farm buildings, some converted to gites, which are located around a large yard area which includes safe parking. Carol the owner is a delight a superb natural communicator who has a wealth of local information which is closely located to many of the WW1 battlefields and Carol has so much knowledge of these various locations and stories which she passes on enthusiastically. Pur stay was in a large high ceilinged room tastefully decorated with a modern ensuite bathroom all this being clean & comfortable. As the time we visited we were in the middle of heatwave and the 2 large windows of the room had to be opened to keep the sweltering heat from disturbing our sleep. Obviously in such a beautifully preserved old property the idea of installing air conditioning would spoil the whole atmosphere of the property. A truly enjoyable stay enhanced by the enthusiasm & charm of Carol - highly recommended.
