Great Small Peaceful Hotel/Resort in Country close to Beach
This is a lovely and unusual place. There are about 20 rooms/chalets spread about green and colourful gardens with a decent sized swimming pool and a main Reception building where breakfasts and meals are served either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. The breakfast bar was quite extensive and should cover all tastes (we loved the plain but delicious omelette). You needed to book in for the set dinner every day although the menu printed at Reception didn't always reflect what you were given. This didn't really matter as the food - mostly Sardinian specialities - was always well cooked and delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had a patio area with chairs and lounger. The staff were all very sweet and very helpful. Carmen, the lady who runs the hotel, was absolutely charming and made us always feel very welcome and a friend. Like this part of Sardinia in general there is very little English spoken (Daniel on the Reception Desk was one of the few exceptions) but it is part of the fun of a holiday trying to get by as best you can with a very few words of Italian and sign language! The Hotel is in a rural environment and the sound of the hundreds of sheep bells as the flocks moved about is something I shall remember for a long time. However, it is also very close (couple of minutes drive or a 12 minute slow walk) to the lovely Cea beach. We had a lovely holiday and can really recommend this Hotel.
A wonderful base
Our first impression, which we overcame, was not great as our room was in the block furthest from the reception/dining area. That made getting our luggage to the room difficult over the rough ground and it also meant zero wi-fi which was available only near reception. Even our cellphones got no data signal as the whole area was apparently very isolated from repeater-towers. The other negative was we tried the pool straight away but it was only half-full of water so very shallow- fine for kids but not great for adults. All the positives soon changed our impression however; very peaceful and relaxing, good breakfast with all one needed to ready one for a day's touring and loads of sights to visit in the area which was full of excellent and not over-crowded beaches. They had a beach 5 mins drive away with free parking as resort guests and inexpensive /beach beds with friendly and helpful life-guards. Two restaurants right next to the beach. Carmen, who owns the resort, was very sweet indeed and could not have been more helpful. Her staff were also very caring. Add to that the high standard of cleaning and daily towel changes and we regretted having planned only three nights there. In fact, we did go back for two more nights at the end of our holiday and were lucky enough to get a room very close to reception. On that second visit we also ate an evening meal there. It was very good food served outdoors with a wonderful view of the sunset. We'd go back gladly.
Fairly basic, but clean and pleasant. Really nice staff and decent breakfast”
The aircon! Rooms cleaned every day. Pool wasn't freezing cold and we had access 24 hours a day. The main man on reception was very helpful with really good English, he gave us directions to the beach and any other info we requested. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The views of the mountains were beautiful. The surrounding countryside was lovely. Everything was a little basic, no snacks/food in the day time, and few drinks to choose from. No menu, or info on where the beach bar was, or directions. There isn't really a restaurant. The hotel offers a set three course menu every night and requires pre booking by 3pm- no a la carte menu or other options. Pool had no deep area.
Peaceful place
We had a fantastic relaxing week there. I loved the view and the lot of green color, and the music of the sheep bells. The breakfast is good my favorite was the sheep ricotta with homemade marmalade. They have gluten free options as well. The room is good (nothing special but enough for the perfect holiday). The beach is 10 min. by walk.
A peaceful hotel with great staff, food and views
Last few days of our honeymoon were spent here. We came across this resort by chance and it was only semi-open as the season had yet to start. We were welcomed and shown around the small complex. A choice of rooms, all of which, have terraces which overlook the swimming pool or fields. All buildings are one storey high and blend into the countryside. Effort has been made to ensure you are relaxed in this beautiful place. Staff and owners all very helpful and food was plentiful. Large restaurant and outdoor eating area. Clean swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Rooms were cool, had a fridge and spacious.
