No service and bare minimum accommodation
We are currently at this hotel and are most certainly disappointed. It’s definitely overpriced, under serviced and barely adequate. The one bright spot is that it is clean. The food is fine but the service is missing. It’s shocking to me that this hotel which seems mostly vacant cannot or is unable to provide a better experience for its guests. We will never be back - nor recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nice big pool
The hotel grounds are gorgeous and immaculate. Nice big room with a great bed. Nice big pool, surrounding walkway was sticky and slimy. Time for a power wash Unfortunately, conversation and television from the next room kept us awake but to be expected. Staff were very friendly when we booked and encouraged to pay more for the breakfast to be included. After that, not so nice. My advice is to skip the food here. Menu is very limited, and after the first few days we were told to stick to the menu, anything extra would be charged for. Servers seem unhappy, maybe because I'm Canadian? Not enough tip? I don't eat eggs? No idea. All I know is next time, we will stay somewhere else. There are many other hotels in the price range and more for far less.
Beautiful Pool
Rooms are spacious, clean and functional but sounds travel easily from surrounding rooms, especially if the TV is on in an adjoining room, you think it's in your room. Could hear man snoring in next room. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Weekly spraying so bugs on site are minimal. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is so-so, much better in nearby restaurants. If you get the breakfast buffet it is the same everyday and not a lot of selection so after a week or two it gets boring. Eggs cooked to order everyday. Pool is large, beautiful and clean but tiles around the pool can be very slippery. Never any problem getting seating by the pool. The Thursday afternoon jam with Judy is the absolute best in Barra and not to be missed, get your spot early in the day because it gets busy. Have stayed two years in a row and would stay there again if travelling in that area in future, one of the nicest and reasonably priced places in Barra.
Pleasantly suprised
We very pleased with our stay at Cabo Blanco. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The rooms are large and very quite, the pickleball court noise was not a problem. We did not take the food package as there are a lot of good restaurants, close by, that are a lot cheaper. The pools are large and very clean. The only problem with the pool is it opens at 9:30 AM, a bit late for morning swim people like me. The pickleball is very competitive, but new players are accommodated at the 9:30 start.j
