Hotel muito bom, quartos grandes, banheiro reformado, cama com colchão confortável, toalhas grandes e de boa qualidade. Café da manhã farto, de ótima qualidade. Parabéns a funcionária da recepção , muito gentil, que nos forneceu todas as informações solicitadas. Travesseiros macios demais, para o meu gosto. Localização um pouco distante do centro histórico.

Excellent stay and very nice staff

I had an excellent stay at Royal Hotel in October 2020. The check in seemed a bit unusual at first, but was very straightforward when I arrived on site. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and gave some very good local suggestions. My room was very nice and I was even given an upgrade. The staff generously accommodated my additional requests. The water and coffee refills were great! I recommend it, and will stay here again.

The hotel located right beside the central station. Very nice hotel. The location to the city center is 20 min walk. Big room nice breakfast. The only reason they it not 5 starts is because they don’t have 24/7 desk.

We picked the Royal Hotel - Urban Living because it was next to a train station, but upon arrival learned the station, Basel Badischer Bahnhof, is the smaller of two train stations in the city, the other being the Basel SBB, which connects to other Swiss cities. So we needed to take a tram upon arrival from SBB to BB, which was quite easy travelling 7 stops on the #2 tram line. The Royal Hotel is directly across the street from the Basel BB station, and has rooms solely on the 4th floor of the building. The rooms are modern and without much ornamentation. Water and coffee are provided in the room. The breakfast is continental and basic - fine to get you started in the morning. Overall a very pleasant stay. And the young people staffing the reception desk could not have been nicer.

My wife and I needed a place to stay before we started our cruise of the Rhine River. And I wanted to make sure we had A/C. So we found ourselves at the Royal Hotel. And we were glad we did. The front desk person could not have been more helpful, checking our room, suggesting restaurants and even calling the taxi company to report that he thought the driver overcharged us--he did. It was amazing after a long series of flights over. And the room was perfect. Clean, modern with a hint of tradition. We enjoyed it.
