Locationwise, this hotel is situated strategically in the middle of Batam city. The entrance way is a bit narrow, so look for the hotel totem to find the hotel from the main road. There is A2 food court within a awalking distance, so no worries to find local delicacies. The hotel also located near several shopping center. Room is spacious & clean. Definitely an option for business trip in Batam with economical budget.

Mediocre hotel with a great hotel chain name

First of all, the location was perfect, close to BCS Mall and Grand Batam Mall, A2 food court, convenience store, and a lot of street food. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I think since it still pandemic, they reduce their teams, judging by the emptiness of the reception area and restaurant area. Check-in was fast, and I need to deposit some money. The room was okay, and I booked a superior room. Some things to note are, there is no mini-fridge in the room, cleanliness could be improved, only bed part has carpet, the rest of it is tile, TV channels were so basic, you got two chairs and a footstool, bathroom door can't be closed, so does the shower door, hot water pressure was so low. Breakfast was so mediocre. They said since it’s pandemic, breakfast only can be ordered thru staff with a set menu. I ordered American breakfast and Nasi Lemak, and both taste so bland, but the staff was very friendly. Check out is alright. Parking space was limited in the basement.

This is rated as a three (3*) stars hotel, and desrved every stars of the rating ! The location is Very Good, right in the town centre where all the actions are. The front desk informed that the Hotel is now under the management of ASTON Group and known as Aston INN--Gideon Hotel ?! The room is spacious and acceptable as a three stars (3*) outlet. The staff are Very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is acceptable considered the price charged by the hotel . Many shops and restaurants, massage parlours.....around the hotel. There is a Food court, Big shopping mall, fresh market....within walking distance of the hotel. Good and reasonable hotel for the average tourists.

Here annually, because of its superb location - near a large mall, near several massage centres (my perennial favourite being Thai best), near several excellent food places (must check out Mickey Mouse 66, as well as the coffee shops in its vicinity), near several wholesale shops but they do sell individual items (fantastic branded knock-offs at fantastic prices). As for the hotel itself, rooms are large; with basic amenities and free mineral water. Concierge is reliably helpful, friendly and efficient. Receptionists (same air of sulkiness, whoever is manning the station, whatever time) and buffet breakfasts (why eat here when there are superb choices nearby) are consistently below average, whether the hotel was “Gideon” or is “Gideon by Aston”.
