This hotel is in desperate need of an update. The furnishings are sort of beat-up Queen Anne, and the predominant color is brown. And the bathroom...OMG...the toilet isn't set properly so it rocks when you sit down...and the lid creaks loudly when raised or lowered. There is no easy chair in the room, the only seating is a rolling desk chair. And the linens - there are regular pillows on the king bed, and the cover over the duvet barely reaches the edges - I suspect they're using a queen-size sheet as the duvet cover. Overall, a very disappointing experience!

Comfortable place to stay

No complaints about this hotel. I had checked in online and picked a room, but ended up arriving early. There were no issues changing my room and getting right into it. The staff was friendly. The beds were comfortable. It was clean and I felt safe. The hotel is close to many stores and restaurants.

The bathroom was very small. We set the ironing board up to add counter space. The road noise was all night. Maybe better windows could help that. The shower didn’t drain quick enough so I had to stand in water. The chairs in eating area were filthy. They need replaced or cleaned at least!

Very Disappointed. Not Up to Hampton Standards

I was very disappointed in this Hampton Inn. As a frequent Hampton user, I have always felt comfortable with their excellent standards. However, this hotel is not even close to what they usually provide. Our room was spartan at best. The TV was on a table tucked into a far corner of the room with cords and cable boxes strewn about and attached so they could not be cleared from the table to make it usable. The remote control wouldn't work from the bed and had to get up and move close to the TV to change channels. Worst of all was the condition of the room. It is very old and hasn't been updated in years. The shower was moldy and unclean. There were multiple stains and heaven knows what on the walls and lampshade. See the attached photos. I was so disgusted with the whatever on the walls that I used a washcloth and soap to clean 2 of the worst off myself so I didn't have to look at them. The microwave worked but was so loud it sounded like I was using a lawnmower in my room. Some of these things may seem petty, but all were important and made it clear that who ever is monitoring quality in this hotel pays little to no attention. We are leaving this hotel and moving to another for the rest of our stay. I recommend you avoid it until this hotel gets its act together.

Old and in need of Renovation

As a longtime Hilton guy it’s sad, but my expectations of Hampton Inn have fallen dramatically over the last several years. Many of the properties have aged poorly with inadequate maintenance and overdue renovations. Sadly, Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge - I-10 East falls in that category. Floor tiles in public areas are cracked. Rugs are stained. It didn’t seem particularly dirty, just old and run down. The only real problem was breakfast. Food and beverage was not replenished in a timely manner. The coffee urns were gone when we came down at 8:00 a.m. They were not returned for 15 minutes. I took the last omelet and who knows how it took for them to be replaced. The oatmeal container had only concealed oatmeal mortar around the base. The “blackberry preserves” were actually blueberry and had actually gone bad. Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge - I-10 East will not be on my replay list.
