Paddleboarded to Kingfisher for lunch

Avaliou em 23 de setembro de 2022

Thank you Kay: What fantastic customer service, food and atmosphere. The place looks amazing since the refurbishment. We paddleboarded down the river and stopped off for a birthday lunch. Stunning views, great menu, most welcoming staff. There is a canoe portage for paddle boarders, canoes and kayaks and a mooring for boats. Such a hidden gem. Made a great day a perfect day.

mid week break

Avaliou em 23 de setembro de 2022

We booked the break to meet up with relatives but unfortunately it coincided with the Queens funeral. We were really impressed when we first arrived with the location, riverside, and the whole presentation of the hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for us and had set up a television in one of the meeting rooms so that we didn't miss any of the funeral. They also provided us with refreshments. It would be inappropriate to praise individual staff members as they all provided us with excellent service, meals, drinks and accomadation

Breakfast at The Kingfisher Bedford

Avaliou em 23 de setembro de 2022

Just visited The Kingfisher Bedford (was The Barns) this morning for a lovely family breakfast. We had a great time, the food was lovely & service was amazing, staff very attentive, special thanks to Kay nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to our next visit for a family Sunday lunch. Definitely worth a visit, fab river views & the renovation works were wonderful. Lynn

3 stars for the food, no disabled access to terrace lets it down.

We visited on recommendation from a friend. The disabled parking area was eventually found as there are no signs to where it is. The new refurb looks fab and the decor well done. We were shown to our seats and I asked if we could sit out on the terrace. I was told no as there's no wheelchair access. I went to look and the step out is too high. There is also another door. I asked if they had a ramp, I was told no. There is plenty of room for one and for the size of step, these cost less than £100. By alienating wheelchair users, you are not doing yourselves any favours. Inside the restaurant is accessible however. The food was delicious although a little slow to arrive. Our starters took 30 mins but then it sped up a bit. The staff were friendly and kind too. I looked for a disabled toilet so I could tell others where it was, but there wasn't one with the male and female toilets. I would have asked, but there was nobody at the entrance area to approach. I would come back for the food, but so disappointed that yet another pub/restaurant has not thought about its wheelchair user customers. I did fill in a feedback form and email directly over 2 weeks ago, however got no response!
