A very Beige hotel in every respect which serves a purpose but is a little past it’s best. The check in was ok despite the limited English and the room was clean when I arrived. The window had been left open to air the room as often encountered in Chinese hotels the previous occupant had obviously been smoking despite the signage. A good size room and large bathroom with separate shower and bath in the king size option I booked. Disappointingly however I decided on a bath but the brown water and sediment changed my mind and I opted to the shower where the beige shower floor at least masked the water colour enough to take my mind off it! Food options in the hotel are OK but the Japanese restaurant is quite expensive. There is a lovely park nearby for a walk and a local shopping mall with plenty of alternative eating options. I’d probably not rush back for a return visit although it does come in at ‘OK’.
Nice but old fashioned and not great for foreign tourists
I stayed there for a week on a business trip. Nice lobby. Unfortunately most receptionists don't speak English. Room looked like the 80s room. Wifi pretty poor. Shanghai restaurant was closed, Japanese restaurant wanted only cash, Chinese restaurant didn't let me in at 9pm (staff didn't speak English). I had dinner at the bar on a ground floor - cold & raw overpriced food. For the same amount you can get delicious food in nearby Han's Plaza shopping centre. Don't eat at the hotel. Breakfast was ok but very busy, sometimes difficult to find a space. Location is ok for businesses nearby but I didn't see any tourist attractions. 50m swimming pool is also ok, but remember to have a swimming cap. In general my stay was ok, but I think I didn't feel welcome like in other hotels. I think staff should work on English language skills.
Unhealthy Food. Poor Management
Our family visited our sister who lived in this hotel for a conference. As it was windy outside we chose to eat in the Chinese restaurants of the hotel. however we later found out it was a bad decision because: number one, the dish was too oily there’s too much oil. I really doubt the quality of the oil! second: the F&B manager is very impolite with a stony face and cold language. he didn’t know how to communicate at all especially as a restaurant manager, he’s not qualified. this is not the way he should treat his customers. that’s why this restaurant had so bad business. There were only 10 people for the whole evening. I will certainly not go back to this hotel. The experience was very bad.
A good place for business
I stayed there for many times since 2007. I think it is a fairly good hotel in BDA. It is especially convenient for business travel. The breakfast was good and the room is OK. Its restaurant was a little expensive but has really good food.
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights at this hotel. Upon check in, it was clear that the service would be poor when we could not communicate in English and the staff was less than hospitable. Each of the 4 nights were very uncomfortable when trying to sleep. In the middle of the night, we would get up very warm, noticing that the a/c went from 25 degrees c to 30 degrees c. We tried to adjust the thermostat and complained to the hotel staff with no success. The beds were extra, extra firm. The carpet was very dirty. Daily breakfast buffet was included. The wait and kitchen staff were not friendly or helpful. Most of the food tasted like it was leftover from the day prior...dry and rubbery. The lobby was nice.
