A hidden gem that's light on the wallet

Hotels like Northern Suites remind us that it's not actually that big a deal for the customers to have a perfect experience. On my way to Coorg by bike from Chennai, I stopped by at Bangalore and as a city with tons of options, I was lucky enough to spot this hidden gem. Located at Brookefields, one of the city's best areas, I was happy to discover a place which has all the basic amenities a person travelling alone would need. To be honest, it took a lot of searching online as I needed a place that's light on the wallet yet be comfy as possible. Considering I was all by myself, I didn't mind being a bit adventurous and that's how I landed here. Thankfully, they have an open space right opposite the hotel which was more than enough to park my bike. Though I was sceptical about it being an open space, I was glad that it was safe and sound when I got back the next day. As far as the room is concerned, it was more spacious than was needed and I probably felt like it because it's not often I get to have an entire room for myself. With a regular TV and furniture, the hotel ticks off all the basic boxed. The bed was super-comfortable and quite large even if it had had two people on it. The bathroom was clean and there were no issues as far as hygiene was concerned. I didn't try the food they had to offer despite having a free breakfast as I left early in the morning. Thankfully, they had someone on the desk even as early as 6 am and that was something I checked before booking to make sure that there aren't any hiccups in my plan to ride out of Bengaluru. On the whole, it was a pleasant stay at Northern Suites (not to be confused with another hotel of the same management in Bangalore). I would definitely recommend this hotel to solo travellers as well as couples and families.

Extremely unprofessional staff and zero for Cleaniness

I had a terrible experience. Staff are really unprofessional. In the mid of the day, the staff called me to drop my trip to change the rooms from one floor to another floor. Staff really don't know how to check-in & poor in communication. The rooms smell like poop everywhere, no toilet paper and terrible service overall. Zero for cleanliness, they don't change the bedsheet and pillows, it smells as well.

The place is neat and clean with very limited facilities. The rooms are ok again with very limited toiletries. The breakfast spread too is very very limited. If you are a tea or coffee freak please carry your own stuff with you. Apart from the two tea pouches placed in the room you will not get another one even if you beg on your knees. And not to forget there will be no replacement on the second day if you wish to stay over night. Also, no milk sachets are available. I had to buy them from the out side market. So if you want to dump your baggage and then crash at night this might be the place for you. Do not expect any service from the staff over there

Good food but terrible checkin experience

I had booked a Premium room with Northern Suites E Block at AECS layout on Sep 27th 2019 through GoIbibo Booking ID HTLB2BZ9YEN9U. The duration of the stay was 27th to 29th. I made the full payment online and received a confirmation. (I can produce the receipt) On 27th due to some personal reason I did not check in and I checked with both the GoIbibo and Northern Block staff over a call about my room. Both times I was assured since I have made the payment the room was reserved for me. On 28th morning when I reached the hotel after a 13 hour drive, I was shocked to find the receptionist telling me since I did not checkin on 27th the room is no longer available. I produced the receipt which clearly stated that the room was booked from 27 to 29 and full payment was made. The receptionist calmly asked me to goto a different hotel of their own which was some distance away. I mentioned there was a reason why I chose this hotel because of its proximity to a location I wanted to visit. Finally after much persuasion somebody from the staff went and cleaned up some room making me wait about 30 mins with the luggage after driving 13 hours and exhausted. I did get the room which I had paid for, but the process by the hotel was baffling. And I had to wait for 45-50 mins to get in the room I failed to see how a room which was paid for can no longer be available before the end of the booked duration. What is the point of advance booking then? Finally when I checked out I did not get the bill as well. Because of which I could not claim the amount from my employers. So I ended up paying for the room from my own pocket when I was there on a business visit. I don’t know if its GoIbibos responsibility or the Hotels. But It was a very bad experience at this hotel for me.i.e pay the full amount but still room is not available. On the flip side the breakfast was good

I stayed in Northern suits C Block during my visit to Bangalore.There are 2 hotels one in E block and other in C Block. It is nice hotel,well maintained very near to the main road .The staff is too friendly and caring. The toiletries are of good quality cleaning is done everyday. You get all types of food joints near the hotel. You get busses to every place in Bangalore. They provide complementary breakfast every morning and it is delicious Please try this hotel for small families and short trips Normally corporate bookings are done so anyone travelling through company may suggest for booking.
