Upon arrival, we were accommodated in a very bad smelling room. The housekeeping staff knew all about the smell, but the staff kept 'conveniently quiet'. When we complained, they did not do anything about it. We booked half-board, but found out during the week that you need to make a reservation at least 1-2 days in advance. Plus pay supplements for various dishes. The most horrific experience we had is a dinner at the Italian restaurant, where we were 'accused' of not making a reservation - as though trying to get a 'free' reservation. They only allowed us to stay to eat, when we refused to leave the place. Astonishing, during dinner we noticed that the place had numerous empty tables... We wrote an elaborate email to the hotel management. Never heard anything back- not even after a reminder. Terrible, expensive, overrating place with very lousy service

Lot's of opportunties to play Golf at nearby courses with reduced Greenfees. A number of local restaurants with very good food. Perfect to start a golf season (and get used to heavy windy condictions).

Golf resort hotel Balmer See

One week with friends at this resort hotel on the edge of the Balmer See, on the island of Usedom on the Baltic. Suniest location in Germany. Two well-done 18 hole golf courses, an extraordinary Asian pavilion for yoga, Thai massage, other spa treats, indoor and outdoor pools, wellness center and spa. Our package included seven nights, breakfast (buffet) and sit--down dinners (choice of meat, fish or vegetarian options), and seven days greens fees. For golfers, a relatively cheap chance to binge. The hotel was filled with serious golfers. We only did one round. The food is excellent, the service outstanding, the rooms very comfortable. Opportunities for long walks, bike rides, or driving tours of many small towns around the island. A great place for a week or two. We intend to return... highly recommended!

Picturesque hotel/spa with everything you could ask for. The spa is wonderful, the pool great all year, the restaurants fantastic and the breakfast plentiful. Very golf centered but nice for kids as I recommend the junior suites, they are very spacious, and good for families.

This area is obviously not well known outside the German and Danish community but is a terrific region to visit and the hotel and amenties are first class.We really liked the ability to choose between different evening locations ofr our meals and the wellness centre added the extra touch to the day's golf.
