Basic service at affordable price

I've stayed in the hotel one night. I've chosen it because it was near the appartement I was going to rent the following day and because the check in was up to 22hs (my flight arrived late in the night). The receptionist spoke English and was friendly with explanations. She left the hotel at 22hs and the reception was closed till the following day (I left at 10am and it was nobody there. I left the keys in the counter). The restaurant was closed due to Corona. In the surroundings there was no restaurants nor markets open in the night, so I've ordered food by internet and it arrived in 20m. The room was big, with 2 beds, leading to the street, but no sound was heard. In the bathroom there was liquid soap (no shampoo), toilet paper and towels. Heating was working well. You get one duvet in the bed. TV channels also available. I was given the password for internet, but the signal was kind of slow in my room so I was connected in the hall of the 1st floor. There are 2 main doors to enter the hotel: through the restaurant and another one by the left side. The staff of the delivery service entered directly and I've found him at the door of my room! (when nobody was at the reception). There's a lift that was working in the night an early morning, but it seems that it's not working all the time. There are stairs that you need to climb in order to reach the reception, so you will have to make an effort by yourself to carry the bags as there's nobody there to help. In front of the hotel there's the S-Bahn station, and 100mts away there's a bakery where you can grab a coffee and croissant in the morning (as the hotel doesn't provide you with breakfast).

Never again.

Dirty carpet with dust and grit, dark (there was a lamp with a broken plug so that the 2 brass pins were all that there was to plug in. Nice for people who want to electrocute themselves), completely dark corridors as the sensors don't work, no water pressure so no shower, no tea or coffee facilities and no breakfast. Pay 12 euros for wi-fi that doesn't work. Also, only one device can be connected, which isn't a problem as the wi-fi doesn't work.Things, including money, went missing from the room while we were away during the day. Management denied that this was possible, even though I had taken before and after photos of the money on the bedside table. The restaurant which is separately owned and managed is ok. The hotel is a dump.

Worst hotel ever

Dirty, dark rooms, the bathroom smells like a public toilet, no water pressure, closed restaurant, unfriendly receptionist. When the ligth switch went wrong When I got back in the evening (before the cleaning lady were in), she was complaining that she is alone, I leave early in the morning so I should deal with it with the night lamp and left me while I was still talking to her without saying sorry.

The room was big and the bathroom was okay. The staff are not helpful demanding a credit card or passport on check in to keep just in case you lose the room key. The area around the hotel is okay very close to the S Bahn station.

Potentially good value, with caveats

I stayed at this confusing property for three nights. It seems to have been rebranded and even renovated a few times. Now it's Armenian owned? Nothing seems clear or straightforward about this hotel. Pluses: Good rate (via Booking.com). Not a bad location if you’re looking to economize. Pretty clean. Minuses: Wifi costs extra and you are only permitted access to one device. (You can work around this if you are tech savvy, but still.) Problem with first room (shower leaked to an excessive degree), which took an inordinate amount of time to resolve. Staff ranged from friendly and competent to wholly unfriendly, confused and inefficient. (Beware of the bearded male staff member especially.)
