If you want a hotel that’s full of character, with excellent service and friendly staff, this is the place to stay! It could be described as ‘full of old world charm’ or ‘a little worn in places’ but I’d definitely prefer this to other chain establishments, where every hotel in the country is the same.

Let down by cleaning team

Stayed before no problem but this time room not cleaned properly with cobwebs in wardrobe, on curtains etc Worse, the cleaner was asked to sort and ignored the request. Its a period hotel but no excuse for bad cleanliness.

Pleasant place to stay in Beverley

A familiar hotel for us which seems to have been spruced up a bit since our last stay a few years ago. Comfortable rooms once the heating had a chance to get going. Very good breakfast. Good service. Linited parking not helped by people parking like pr*ts. Nearby long stay is fine though especially as it's free after 6 on Saturday until Monday morning.

The problem with this place is that the acceptability is largely dependent upon which room one stays in. Some rooms are perfectly good, but others very much less so; and customers have no control over the room allocated. So it's very much pot luck. The location is superb, but it is a place for those who like to gamble.

Exceptional customer service and flexibility when we were unable to honour our booking at the last minute on account of illness. Unfortunately we never got to visit the hotel itself but this experience gives us every encouragement to do so as soon as circumstances permit.
