Cosy hotel with big rooms in the small town of Biei

Probably the only proper hotel in Biei, this place is very nice and practical as a base to explore the amazing views this town offers. It has nice staff, nice and big rooms (albeit a bit old), big windows. There are only 2 floors with all the rooms on the second floor which makes it easy to get around. There is a free to use parking lot next to it, some restaurents around and it is walking distance from Biei station.

This is rural Japan so you shouldn’t expect high levels of English. The staff are helpful and friendly if you’re patient and smile. Rooms are clean and large. There is a small balcony with special balcony shoes but there are no seats. The restaurant/cafe is open for lunch and dinner but not during the afternoon for coffee and cake. There is a well stocked souvenir shop and convenience store attached. There is not much for a tourist to do in Biei itself. We went out of town to visit local gardens and for dinner.

The hotel is a few steps away from Biei Station. We booked the Deluxe room which was very huge and was also the disabled friendly room. The breakfast is good and the staff were very polite. Biei is a small, quiet town. We had lunch at the cafeteria cum souvenirs shop next to the hotel (attached to the hotel). The food was delicious.

The room is spacious in Japanese standard and the breakfast is nice. People even come to have their famous ice-cream. But when I asked to print a page for me illumination tour, the staff rudely refused to help and just asked me to go to 7-11. The other hotels can always help with printing and I don’t mind paying, but the attitude was no good!

Pros: 1) Wonderful breakfast (Japanese + Western style) 2) Spacious room & parking lot 3) Location (optimized for a tour of Furano and Biei) 4) Friendly staff members Cons: 1) a little bit shabby (but clean) 2) few malls and restaurants nearby Overall, it's great.
