Dirty room and staff poor service
Huge decline in cleanliness and service! The cleanliness and service had been good for stays in the past. I stayed about 12 nights in the past month because I was receiving cancer treatment at Billings Clinic. Most recently,I stayed from December 14-18 and returned for December 23. We happened to get the same room as we had on Friday the 18th. I saw a bright blue water bottle lid ( which was the same type water I drank Friday). Next I noticed a candy wrapper on the floor and thought same kind of candy I had Friday. Next, I notice desk area sticky with food stains! Then I realized my room had not been cleaned well since my stay 4 days prior. Horrible to know room wasn’t cleaned properly, especially during COVID times! We requested another room and they sent us to a single bed and we had reserved double, after requesting again we had to move upstairs to another room. The remote was missing in that room and there was a hair band on the floor! I was ill and tired so we spent night despite unsatisfactory. I spoke to clerk at front desk and she would not credit room and didn’t show concern, except to say she told her manager and manager also said no refund. They did say they would inform cleaning staff of our concerns. My family has stayed at this hotel regularly for 5 years and will never stay there again and will tell many friends not to stay at Comfort Suites in Billings, MT
WESTERN TRIP GONE BAD
Broke My Hip, Entrance to Yellowstone, spent 23 days in Montana RE-HAB Hospital, Billings MT. The following is My Husband's Review. : Spent 14 Nites at Comfort Suites, while My Wife was in Hospital. Check-In went smooth by friendly Staff Member. Rooms were very clean. Room cleaned each day and bed made up. At least 2 Restaurants within walking distance, my favorite being 4B's. Excersize Gym was open. Breakfast bar not much. Easy access to Hospital.
Convenient and clean
I have stayed at this property a few times and it is always nice. The room was clean and quiet, the furniture was nice and the space good. The A/C however is VERY loud! If you are a light sleeper, this is not for you! The fridge is only a fridge with no ice tray. The shower doors, while looking very good are of poor design, since one has to step into the shower to turn on the water, which means you are getting hit with cold water. Lots of outlets, nice lobby and breakfast area and clean well lit, carpeted stairwells. Convenient location with ample parking, next to gas stations, car wash and a few fast food places. Pool and hot-tub were open ('Covid') and are very nice! 'Covid' breakfast however, was a sad state of affairs!
No manager response, housekeeping annoyance
I have stayed at Comfort Suites in Billings many times over the past three years. I have even referred the hotel to many people. This past weekend was the last time I'll stay there. I'm finding a new hotel for my frequent trips to Billings. On checkout day (I stayed two nights), even though I had a "do not disturb" sign on my door, three different times that morning housekeeping knocked super loudly on my door (and the third time seemed even louder and her "Housekeeping!" was delivered rudely, definitely in a way as to deliver a message to me that I needed to go. Each time I told them I'd be leaving at the checkout time. Close to checkout time as I left my room to deliver items to my car, a housekeeper (male#1) was standing there. I asked him if he or the other housekeeping staff communicated with each other because I had to tell each one that I was leaving at checkout time. At first he didn't answer, but when I pressed the issue, he said something to the effect that it didn't work that way. As I headed to the elevator, it seemed like he followed me to see if I was getting on the elevator. When I got back to my door another housekeeper (male#2) came out from a room to the hallway to wait for me to leave--and I asked him if that's what he was doing...he affirmed he was, but that he was also waiting for another room to free up. Strangely, neither of my key cards opened my door and I wondered if it was possible that male#1 had anything to do with this. As male#2 was hovering and watching me try to open my door, I asked him if he'd let me in and I mentioned that I came and went all weekend, but didn't have any trouble with my keys. He let me in saying that sometimes the keys are demagnetized or something like that. As I was finishing up my packing (between 5-10 minutes), I heard three voices outside my room. As I exited the room, male#1 and male#2 and one female staff were all waiting on one side of the hallway for me to leave. I had to squeeze by them, and their supply cart with my luggage trolley, to get to the elevator. I hate to speculate, but it almost seemed the were there to intimidate me. As an aside, I can't believe they had nothing to do while they were waiting for people to check out of rooms. The elevator button panel had finger prints and smears everywhere...(I failed to mention that none of the staff wore masks.) I left a note at the desk for a manager to call me. I've not received a call. I go to Billings often...so now, I'm searching for a new hotel. (Also, since I have to answer a question below about hand sanitizer, upon check in, I had to tell the front desk staffer that the hand sanitizer on the desk was empty...She thanked me and said that she didn't know because she never goes to the front of the reception area, that she stays behind it...)
Nothing special here
Although the hotel seemed clean and the hot tub was nice, the staff needs improvement. A warning to Choice Privileges Rewards members - do not reserve in advance. You might as well wait until you are sitting in the parking lot and look online. The price you would receive that same day will be much better than the price you reserved for months in advance. And they won't want to honor/change to the new price. I asked for the lower price and the staff member at the desk refused....said she couldn't do that. She did, however, make note of my name and phone number and promised she would take it up with the manager and have her call me. Still waiting for that call over two weeks later..... The same staff member also had no clue whatsoever about any pizza places nearby that offered delivery. I had to look that up myself. We frequently order pizza delivery after a long drive and I can't say that I have ever stayed at a hotel where the front desk didn't have this information readily available. The TV remote did not work. Called the front desk and was told to bring it down to swap it out for another. The second remote didn't work either. The third remote had no cover over the battery section and the batteries were in backwards. This one didn't work as well. We gave up. The next morning I brought up all of the issue to the girl working the desk and she finally adjusted my bill. Shouldn't have to go through this many hoops. I wish we had stayed somewhere else.
