Needs work, but they're Trying

Stayed here one night. This hotel appears to be an older property. While everything worked in my room, including wi-fi, many parts of the hotel were showing lots of wear. The standard range of Bigelow teas were replaced by lower-cost options. Unfortunately, this hotel, like most Hamptons, did not offer skim milk with breakfast.

Everything was very clean and the workers were super nice. No pool access. The Hotel is older but clean and the rooms are smaller and more compact. Good for business but not family friendly. Down the hill from the hotel is a quaint village setting so this is great for business trips. Nothing for kids

Needs serious maintenance

The hotel is in terrible disrepair. The pool doesn't work; the business office computer is broken; one of two elevators has been out for months; the ice maker doesn't even work; the carpet is filthy; and the cottage-cheese ceiling is flaking off in the rooms. (It landed on my husband's head.) The staff seems demoralized because they know the property needs help. This is the worst Hampton Inn I've stayed at; I'm surprised Hilton hasn't pulled the franchise.

Old hotel with a modest facelift

Hampton Inn has been my favorite hotel chain primarily because I could count on quality facilities and a decent breakfast. This HI is a very old hotel with a modest facelift. The most disappointing part of this and other HI's is the poor quality breakfast. Its obvious to me that significant cost cutting has occurred. I'm done with this chain for business travel. Quality as deteriorated too much!

Obviously an older hotel but efforts made w paint,etc. Staff very pleasant. Comfortable Hilton bedding. Clean. Quiet location. Adequate for overnight stay passing thru Birmingham. Enjoyed the Botanical gardens nearby!
