Great location and deli, but poor ventilation

We love the location of this hotel and the deli, but our room had poor ventilation. The windows didn’t open and there was no fan in the bathroom. Also, there aren’t many channels available on the television. For an expensive Hilton hotel in Bloomfield Hills, this disappointed.
Great staff can’t make up for smelly room.

This is an older hotel they’ve tried to clean up and modernize. Staff is great. Super friendly. Unfortunately my room was apparently at some point in its prior life a smoking room. After being in the room for a few hours the smoke smell became overwhelming. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so I had no other options. Needless to say by the third night my sinuses were tired of smelling smoke. I won’t be back.

We chose this hotel over a different less expensive hotel down the street because of the highly reviewed restaurant and the beautiful interior photos on the website. We paid around $400 for this room. When we arrived, we discovered that the hotel was hosting a Classic Cars event. All of the parking spaces at the front entrance and along the sides were taken up by Classic Cars and parade tents filled with partying people. There was a very loud band blocking the hotel entrance as well, and it was raining. This all might have been fun if we were Classic Car enthusiasts, but we are not. We're just regular family people and we were there for a baptism at the church down the road. The hotel bar and restaurant were completely filled with event guests. We discovered we had been booked into an Accessible room, meaning that it was outfitted for wheelchairs, but we are young(ish) and not disabled. Other than that, the room was pretty......until we opened the curtains and were staring at what must have been the entire HVAC system for the hotel. Possibly worst of all, there was a piped-in scent throughout the hotel - even in our room - that reminded me of cheap 1980's men's musk cologne. It was awful. It permeated our clothes, and my hair. All night, cars were revving their engines. However, the front desk staff was very nice. What we experienced was definitely not what was advertised by this hotel.
Convenient to everything!

Benjamin at the front desk gave exceptional customer service from directions to various places to suggestions for dinner. This hotel is convenient to everything and you can avoid the construction & traffic. Woodward Ave took us straight to Comerica Park and to Pontiac where we had an appointment. If I need to come back, I will stay here! Super convenient to have Zalman's Restaurant attached to the hotel. Perfect for breakfast!
Clean, nice area and very sassy decor in the lounge area to work/have a coffee

I stayed here with a friend in a nice, spacious double queen room. We stayed one night after watching a show at the Pine Knob Music Theatre. It's out in the suburbs so it's close to restaurants and malls as opposed to being right downtown Detroit. However, it's not a long drive to the city and the cost for such a nice hotel is half of a lesser hotel right in the city. There was a REALLY nice area for those looking to work or just chill or chat with friends in the lobby. I didn't get to use it, but it's something to note for travelers.
