Terribly Unresponsive Manager. Yeah, YOU Jay!

Hotel is Ok. The manager, JAY AMISH, is UNRESPONSIVE. My daughter and I were given a room that wasn’t cleaned properly. Hotel sold out, can’t move. We made the best of it. Complained right away. Was told by night person that Jay would be in at 7:30 The next morning. At 7:45am I checked. He wasn’t in and the morning young lady actually chuckled when I mentioned that he was supposed to be in at 7:30. She advised to call after 10am on Monday (this was Saturday). I called at 10:20 Monday. He wasn’t there. I left my number. I called back after noon. He wasn’t there. Called at 5:03pm Monday. He was gone for the day but didn’t call me. I called at around 11am Tuesday. Yep, he wasn’t there. No, He didn’t return my call. I called Wednesday morning. He wasn’t there. I called corporate. They called the hotel. He wasn’t there. I’m writing this review at 7:29pm and JAY still hasn’t called. He doesn’t care. His staff KNOWS he doesn’t care. He also knows there’s nothing anyone can do because he’s the manager. Maybe the franchise owner will see this review. If not, good luck if you have a problem at this hotel.

STAY 2022/09/06-2022/09/16. I used reward nights to make this a cheap stay, will try to review as if full room price paid. Mostly decent service from all staff. Safe/secure with walking to a large convenient store, a few eateries and a CVS. Clean room with decent WIFI. Decent fitness room. Only complaint: Kindly resist the urge so many property managers are unable to resist when it comes to owning and advertising an outdoor pool and actually open and maintain your outdoor pool. It's Spartanburg, South Carolina, and the entire planet knows that unlike Philadelphia or New York, it's 85-90 degrees nearly every day with 85% chance of sun - people swim all over the state well into October - don't be so patently dishonest and smirk at your customers with a "we close it down after Labor Day" - just be honest and admit that you're too cheap/lazy to maintain it and shut it down permanently. I'd take it a lot better with some honesty.

Not good management!

First we had reservations,we have a registered service dog.The lady who was working the front desk had no idea what a service dog was,finally in broken english she called somebody! Then at 12 am last night there was kids running up and down the hall,one had a stick beating on the doors! Then at 2 am they are still screaming and yelling in the halls! Come on people! Not a professional ran Comfort for sure!

Nice Hotel Being Remodeled

We were visiting family in the area and stayed here four nights. The location is a little awkward, there is no signage on the main road, and the building is somewhat hidden but once you know where it is, it's not difficult to get there. The check-in process was a little slow, but then I found out the desk clerk, who was very nice, was brand new, so the slowness was understandable. When we got to the 2nd floor where our room was, the hall carpet was covered with paint and plaster, really a mess. But when we got to our room, it had been recently remodeled and was very nice. The floors and wall coverings were brand new, I suspect the bed may have been new also, it was very comfortable. We had stayed at this hotel before so this time I had requested (and was given) rooms on the front side of the hotel away from the Interstate, which were nice and quiet. The room was very clean except for a little construction dust in the bathroom. The next morning, my wife requested that they clean the bathroom again, which was done. Everything worked as expected and we had basic room service every day except Friday. (Made bed, dumped trash, fresh towels, replenished supplies) Friday they replaced the hall carpet while we were out so that may have been the reason that housekeeping did not service the room. Everyone we met on staff was friendly and did their jobs well. The hot breakfast was the typical scrambled eggs and sausage patties and make your own waffle. It was a bit more minimal than some in that the only fresh fruit offered was apples and there were no biscuits. Still it was attended by a staff member so kept well stocked and cleaned up. When I booked this hotel on the Choice Hotels App, they were offering a special price for a four night stay, which was what we had planned anyway, so felt like I got a very good deal.

Cleanliness was a plus, but stay was not what was expected

Last minute booking-good reviews online-professional staff. Clean room a huge plus. Firm bed but not too firm, soft pillows, bath temp very very slow to heat up then scalds you, breakfast okay (eggs in interval bites-cold), no tv channel guide in room-when we called desk (at night-already in pajamas-was told we had to come down to get one at desk-why wasn’t it given at check in)? Also no information in room about guest services, had to go to back to front desk to get. Had to call and ask what time breakfast was served & had to call for Wi-Fi code. Must say though…Front desk staff was very nice & truly did appreciate the cleanliness.
