Spa break & Xmas markets
Booked a Spa break with granddaughter with a mix of Christmas markets.. Hotel is nice & in a great location BUT the spa was out of order for the 4 days we were there. As I booked with a 24 hour cancellation policy I thought it would have been polite for the hotel to inform me that the spa was out of use to allow me to book another hotel. Even on our check in we were not told the spa was out if use. Considering the quality of the hotel I think they’ve slipped up badly here. No discount offered at check out except a complimentary breakfast which we didn’t take due to time. No tea or coffee in the room but there is a coffee maker 🤔 If you’ve booked a spa break in December you’ll be disappointed as it’s out of use till further notice. Check before you travel. 👌🏻
The location is good, the hotel is quite modern and new, the staff were quite friendly and nice for the most part - especially Mathias at the gym and Fabienne (?) at the restaurant for breakfast. The check in took a while, though, as there were some guests ahead of me. The parking, however, is a bit of pain - the parking lot is about 100 m away from the hotel, and if you have a large car, you might want to think twice about parking in the lot, as you have to take a narrow elevator (that the car has to fit into) that will take the car (and you inside the car) down to the parking level. Otherwise, I appreciated the gummy candies at the reception, and the rooms were modern and nicely designed, if a little small. Right next to the boardwalk, and near the main areas of the town, so would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting Bremen.
Modern, clean and comfortable
Very modern hotel. Interesting decor. Ask for a room facing the river; our daughter;'s room was not on the river and did not provide the same experience as our riverside view. The breakfast is convenient but, tbh, is not a great value. Conveniently located to old town Bremen. The hotel parking is an adventure!
Great Staff Helped to Save the day
Our floor and room did not have AC. Cleaning staff should have advised management. The first night was unbearable that it was so hot. To their credit the staff moved us for our second night to a floor that was actually much better. Also, why is the safe on the lowest shelf of the closet so that we had to get on our hands and knees to use.
We arrived late after a long day travelling and checked into the hotel approximately 22:30. The hotel is situated on a side street on one side and overlooks the river on the other side. Arriving anywhere at night can be off putting and I wasn’t quite sure of the area at first. From the minute you step inside you can sense the stylishness of the hotel. We had two rooms booked next to each other (22 & 23). Unfortunately 23 had a noxious smell and we asked to change. We were given another room on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the window was open and it blew in some foliage over the bed and night stand. The receptionist took it upon himself to vacuum it but didn’t do a good job so I had to complain. We both further cleaned the room and then everything was ok. Room 22 overlooked the river & was very nice and spacious. Room 47 had a bath in the room which didn’t make it feel so spacious but still a good sized double room. Towels were of good quality, thick and substantial. Toilet paper was good quality as were the toiletries. The shower tends to wet the floor as it is a cubicle with no door. The duvet was quite warm for this time of year. And the pillows weren’t great. Too soft. The presence of large studio lamps in the rooms were unnecessary and took up too much space. And both my husband and I agreed that the the shelving unit that encompasses the bed is rather dangerous with its sharp corners at eye level when you are sleeping. It may be good to have a few cms taken off the shelf. You can see from photos what i mean. We didn’t eat in the hotel and chose to walk along the riverbank to the old square approx 10mins away. The daylight provides a different atmosphere and it is quite a nice area with bars and restaurants nearby. Overall, despite our initial problems we did like the hotel and agreed that we would stay again. We were pleased that the staff were competent enough to make a decision regarding changing our room and took our problems on board.
