Close to downtown, clean and good amenities

I found the BW in Caldwell very conveinient to the restaurants and other businesses in the area. It is more laid back than Boise or Nampa. The pool is nice for a bit of relaxation. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I would stay here again.

This accessible hotel is close by a nice steakhouse in Caldwell and easy to find just off the freeway passing through. Heavy fog forced our hand or we would have missed it. Rooms are being updated constantly according to kitchen manager, Jeanette, and the lobby is warm and friendly. Our quiet spacious room was nicely appointed with new everything from room darkening drapes and a nice sound absorbing carpet to big comfy bed, modern bathroom and shower and a luxurious vanity. (We also had a very nice desk and a coffee pot but we’re on the fly and didn’t get a chance to enjoy them). The best part, however was breakfast! Jeanette and Toni (sp?) were friendly and helpful, putting out delicious, fresh scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries (Idaho potatoes of course), biscuits and gravy (fresh baked biscuits!), as well as cereal, waffles, muffins and yogurt. It was all amazing. I went for healthy fare at first but was tempted by the biscuits and gravy with potatoes on the side and will be carrying that extra weight on into the next state I’m afraid:)! It was so good I went back for a muffin which was so moist and delicious it was like being in a New York bakery getting things fresh out of the oven. Local truckers, farmers and tradespeople passed through quietly talking amongst themselves, in flannel shirts, getting their (Free!) breakfast, while Jeanette told us a little about the Snake river area and the strangely foggy weather (it’s a “…bowl between mountain ranges…”) that caused us to stop originally! if you stop in you’ll have to meet her and Toni, and just please just say hi for me and Martha when you do, we will miss them as we continue on across America! Their little hotel Heaven is clean and warm and friendly in the middle of a frantically busy country, they take the time to chat and smile with strangers the way my folks did back in the day. Thanks Best Western Caldwell, we’ll remember You:) (And we are taking a half-caff latte and muffin for the road!)

Very Dated Rooms

My wife and I were visiting my daughter in the area and this was the closest hotel to her place. Best Western is not a Hotel Brand I generally visit but it was close so we decided to give it a try. The employees that we met and interacted with were all friendly and accommodating but the rooms were quite a bit disappointing. Starting with the carpet, it looked like it had been there for at least 20 years, the tiles in the bathroom area were cracked and wiggled/clinked when you walked on them. The room had a slight smell of tobacco smoke and was dark even with the lights on and window open. All the lightbulbs were underpowered and the window too small to illuminate the room sufficiently. Bedsheets and coverings were not luxurious in any way but the bed slept comfortably. The small TV sits on top of the dresser which is lower than the bed so when trying to watch TV from bed (as if there is another option in these rooms) you find yourself constantly looking down. All in all, if you're looking for a functional room for sleeping then the BW+ in Caldwell ID will do. It's won't impress you but it will provide the minimal level of comfort needed for a nights rest.

The hotel was fine. A little aged here and there, with a couple of minor repairs needed, but modern. The only thing I didn't like was the shower head - 7 feet up with the water straight down. Had to bend the body oddly to get the water to where I wanted it. The wifi was pretty good, plenty of AC outlets. The free, hot breakfast is standard hotel breakfast fare. Fairly tasty, and just okay. The "pantry" had only junk food snacks, sodas and beer. The night clerk was bored and lackadaisical. Not rude, but uninterested. The room had all the regular things that make hotels pleasant but not exceptional. Caldwell is much farther from Boise (45 minutes) than I realized. My bad for not paying closer attention. The only things within walking distance of the hotel are a Burger King, a truck stop, and a Dutch Bros.

Ruined our wedding night

Spend your money elsewhere. Under horrible management and you will be disappointed. Turned us away on our wedding night after having the room booked for 2 months! Zero attempt to accommodate and were very ride.
