Fui assaltado no Hotel - Abriram minha mala dentro do quarto.
Fujam desse lugar!
Great last minute reservation
I had a 16 hour layover in Cancun, and wasn’t arriving until 1030pm. Found this place on hotels.com at 59% off (because it was last minute) ... only to find later that it was even less expensive via Trip Adviser. In any event, I would have happily paid the full price. The room was large, had more storage than every other place I’ve stayed at in Central America combined, was very clean, and comfortable. Both the evening and morning front desk staff spoke fluent English, were quite kind and very helpful. All in all, even though I got a huge discount on the room, it would still have been worth the full price. If I was to have one minor fuss it would be that there were windows on two walls of my room, but only one dark curtain, and it wasn’t on the window where the sun came up. Had I needed to sleep in, the sunrise coming directly in line with the bed could have been annoying. (Sunrise pic is attached) I’ve read negative feedback about the wifi speed and water pressure, and the hotel must have corrected those issues because both were very good. I’d definitively come back.
This hotel could easily get a higher review
We booked this hotel at a great rate or it would have gotten a lower rating. It was ok for the price. First the good: 1) close to the bus station 2) larger than average room 3) a balcony with a table and chairs 4) quiet location 5) great room rate 6) friendly helpful staff Next the not so good: 1) Most uncomfortable bed I have slept in for years 2) balcony had a tinaco that was supposed to be a planter for a palm - palm gone, planter now a breeding ground for mosquitos 3) Room could have been cleaner, there was garbage in the bathroom waste basket 4) there was a substantial crack in the shower ceiling with water stains and peeling paint 5) the desk chair seat was well worn and ripped. As I said, with a few changes this could be an excellent place to stay for the money, however, given our 1 night we will be trying other places in the future.
Spend your money elsewhere if you can
Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this hotel. We booked this on Booking.com and had fairly high expectations based on previous guests reviews and the cost of the room. We arrived to find that our room had no hot water for showers and the receptionist said they would not be able to check/fix until the next morning and no additional rooms that we could stay in. An hour later she knocked on the door and said someone was coming to fix the problem. When he finally showed up, he spent nearly an hour and a half in and out of our room, talking on his cell phone, disassembling the shower head/faucets, and banging around on various things. The result: still no hot water. That issue aside, the place sounds like you are staying inside an aluminum soda can. I'm pretty sure that every sound was amplified as they reflected down the hallways, and the smoke alarm apparently needed a new battery as it emitted a high pitched chirp every 26 seconds for the entire night. All in all, it was no beuno for a fairly light sleeper like myself. The bed was comfortable enough but the blankets which were supposed to be white, had an undesirable yellow-ish hue which definitely made us question the level of cleanliness. Wi-Fi didn't always work and the shuttle to the airport was 300 pesos! Very expensive.
Can I give you, guys, 6 stars?
My relative got robbed at the airport (passport, docs, etc) and found this hotel for him to stay while embassy was working on a temporary passport. The owners and staff of the hotel treated our problem (which is something I never wish to anyone) like we were the family. Can't thank them enough for all the help and advice! Great place to stay if you speak Russian. His room was good, clean and wifi was great, for the most part, except for may be 1/2 day out of 3 he stayed there. Centrally located, close to everything, safe area. Highly recommend.
