Peaceful hotel with friendly staff
Hotel is conveniently placed 200 yards from a lovely quiet Sandy beach.. The staff are friendly and the room very clean, with maid service every day... The area is very quiet and alot of shops and restaurants are closed..hardly surprising as they, like the rest of the world has suffered with the pandemic.. ..dont come here for any nightlife, as there is nothing here... But full marks to the hotelier for keeping it going and smiling everyday
No ocean view, misleading description
We ordered a room which was supposed to be "sea facing", but when we got there we were presented with a room that faced the mountains. Mountains are nice, no question about it, but as we had spent weeks doing research on hotels that offer rooms with a sea view, this was seriously disappointing. We immediately asked to change rooms, but the young man behind the desk insisted that our room had "sea view", and he furthermore claimed that the hotel was fully booked and that there were no other options. Here is the deal: there is a narrow balcony that wraps around the room we stayed in. If you move all the way around the corner, to where the air condition outlet is, you do see the ocean. To call this a "sea facing room" should, however, definitely be considered false advertising. Therefore, if you expect to get a room which looks like the one they advertise on their website (or hotels.com's website), you are likely to be disappointed. I read reviews of guests who have had similar experiences at this hotel, but I chose to disregard them and book it nevertheless. I quite frankly regret that we chose to stay there. Some positives: There are some genuinely sweet people working at this hotel, especially at breakfast. Very good coffee, decent breakfast options. If you do luck out and get a sea facing hotel room, you might be able to watch the sunset. (We did not get to see it from our room.) The bathroom was clean and nice and what one would expect from a hotel of this standard. It takes about 5-6 minutes to drive to Castelsardo, which is a really lovely town. Those in the room next to us had late night parties pretty much every night we stayed there, so we slept with earplugs. The beds are fairly firm. We travel quite a bit and we do our due diligence before booking. What disappointed us here was that the advertising is so far from reality, and we therefore felt a bit tricked. I see that other guests have had good experiences here, but this hotel was unfortunately not what we expected.
Pænt og rent familiedrevet hotel
This hotel is the best looking one on the road. Located in the small town Lu Bagnu you're only a short drive away from Castelsado, either by car or by bus. Also very close to a small but very nice beach. Sandy but with a bit of stone-passage when you enter the water. Beautiful view from the room looking towards the village and mountains in the northeast and the ocean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and caring for its guests. The rooms was light and well decorated with a mini-fridge. And the breakfast buffet was great - had everything you need to start your day off right. The restaurant next door is nice and further down the street you find a great pizzeria. Can highly recommend this hotel when visiting Castelsado.
