Fantastic Hotel!

We stayed at Scala De Faro for 4 nights. Our first night in one of the street view rooms then the other 3 in the sea view balcony room. The rooms were absolutely fantastic, modern, spacious and both had very nice bathrooms too. The balcony on our second room was brilliant. It gave a view of the old venetian harbour which was perfect - the best view in Chania! Breakfast was a buffet with a wide range of pastries, fruits, salads, cereals, cheeses and hams. There was nothing else you could want for. We also had fresh orange juice made every morning. All of the staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, attentive and quick to help. They supported us with arranging taxis and with locating local amenities. They were faultless! Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Chania Old Town, it is perfect.

Wonderful!

We stayed at Scala de Faro for 4 nights during our trip to Crete. What a gem! I'm so happy I found it. The location is absolutely perfect, right at the Harbor, in the cutest little street. Rooms were impeccable, clean and just the right size with very comfortable bed. The breakfasts (a delicious buffet) are served on the second floor with views on the Harbor. Freshly pressed orange juice every morning! All members of the staff is wonderful, the owner himself brought our luggage up to our room on the second floor the night we checked in (sorry, i know it was heavy!). The morning we checked out, we had to leave very early before sunrise. Because we would leave before breakfast was served, they had packed us a breakfast to bring with us, what a sweet attention!!! I'm so happy that we stayed there and I highly recommend!!

Central location and good service

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. This place is located in a great spot, close to the waterfront and right inside the old town. Special thanks to Maria who was very helpful and accommodating. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was very clean. One suggestion would be, if you’re coming in from chania airport, make sure the hotel arranges transportation for you because you could get lost on your own, and it is affordable. Overall we enjoyed our stay here!

Beautiful location

I chose this place on Expedia based on it’s reviews and it’s location on the waterfront. It did not disappoint. We had a lovely room on the ‘first floor’ (which is really the second floor). Our room was right by the kitchen and breakfast area. I believe there was one more room on this floor. It was a fairly quiet spot, You could hear staff starting to set things up around 7 am but even with my sound app on low I was able to ignore it and fall back asleep until 8 (one of the rare mornings on this trip we slept that late). The bed was one of the best I’ve slept in on our trip so far, and they had good pillows (I’m fairly picky on these things due to neck and back issues). A few details- Yes, I would stay again I don’t believe this place is the best option for someone with mobility issues. They do have an electric chair to take you up the stairs, but there’s probably easier places to stay if you’re impaired. There are stairs that go right out onto the waterfront! Like maybe most hotels there, they have old pipes, the drainage down the shower wasn’t great and the water escaped under the door onto the stone floor in the bathroom. I had to lay down a hand towel to catch the overflow. Be aware every place on the island seems to want you to wipe and toss it into the can next to the toilet. This took me a few days to figure out as the hotels I was in didn’t state this but the restaurants did.
