Front desk was reasonably friendly and bell boy was very nice and helpful. Booked 2 twin rooms next door to each other which we got but the first rooms allocated were by the car park and near the staircase, we noticed how noisy it was soon after arrival and asked for it to be changed to the Riverside part. The rooms also smelt of dampness. This was done immediately with not trouble but unfortunately the sheets in one of the rooms were dirty and had hair in it. Looked as if the sheets were not changed after the last occupants. My daughter had to sleep curled up in her jumper so she doesn't touch the sheets. I complained, but had to stand there with the room service manager while it was changed because the cleaner was just going to shake and replace the same sheets. There are different parts of the hotel and the part we stayed in, had a dormitory effect which made it more noisy and echoey. The food in the restaurant at breakfast was mainly Asian (rice, noodles etc) which was fine since that is what they have but there was no tea at all, just coffee which wasn't nice. Our worse experience was on the 2nd night. After a 20km day of cycling and sightseeing, we just wanted a good night's sleep before heading travelling to our next destination in the morning. We had the worst night of the whole holiday because a large group had arrived that day and were very roudy, very noisy, slamming doors, playing TV very loud throughout the night, we hardly got any sleep at all! Never experienced this in a hotel before. These were grown up people as well with families. After my husband's several attempts to get the room next to his to turn down their music, he finally had to involve the receptionist at 4.00a.m. We had intended to set out at 8.00am the next day but got up at 6.00am and left much earlier instead. In hindsight, we should have left the hotel after the first night. Shame about the rooms because the staff were nice to us.

Accommodating and relaxing

I booked the Pimanninn just a few hours before my arrival and was extremely surprised at the facilities and accommodation. After backpacking and staying in hostels for most of the month, I was looking for a reasonable room with as many amenities as I could possible find. The Pimanninn was not only affordable but had a pool opened late, a gym, room service and a mini fridge. Everything I need to relax and rejuvenate. The beds were more cushioned than your average Thai hotel and the staff did everything they could to help meet my needs. When arriving I asked for a motorbike company and one came with a bike ready in less than two hours, on my way out I was running late and the company even agreed to meet me at the bus station to retrieve the keys to my bike. I liked the location because it wasn't right in the middle of the city but yet was not hard to access it. I would definitely recommend The Pimaninn to fellow travelers.

Not worth a second chance

Disappointed from the moment we entered this place - felt like it was well past its used by date. The staff throughout were not particularly friendly, often too busy on their personal phones to be interested in helping. The room was simple & neat but not at all clean. No facilities for making coffee & tea in the room. Very noisy at night with every voice & sound amplified in the long corridor, walls thin enough to hear every word of the neighbours, loud music from near by bar making it near impossible to sleep. Breakfast seemed to have a good array of Asian dishes & rice but dry toast or eggs were the only alternatives & coffee was undrinkable. Pool was nice but limited sun lounges & seating. Would never stay here again as there are much better alternatives for the same price closer to the main town attractions. Not recommended.

We were very disappointed with our stay here. From the moment we arrived, no one bothered to welcome us or say "hello" as we walked through the door, even though there were at least 4 people sat behind the reception desk. We checked in after leaning over the counter to get some ones attention, baring in mind they just watched me struggle through the door carrying 3 big bags by myself (as my boyfriend has a broken leg & is walking with crutches). They gave us no information about any of the facilities available at the hotel, simply handed us the key card and said "follow him", as a young boy came to collect our bags and carry them to the room. He was the only helpful person we saw here, so we asked him about where and when breakfast would be served. The room itself was ok. Bed was clean, however the room itself and bathroom were quite dusty and grotty. There was also an awful damp smell whenever we entered the room. We attempted the restaurant in the evening, sat in there for at least 15 minutes waiting to be served. 3 members of staff were sat in the corner on their phones and didn't even bother to acknowledge that we had walked in. When we asked if they worked here, a simple "yes" was answered, then back to their phones. The only positive about this hotel was the swimming pool - big, clean and quiet. Although hard to sit around due to only having about 4 sunbeds for all the guests. Thanks for nothing.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and I was treated very good. Very nice gym and pool. The food at Breakfast was good and enough there for all. The bedroom was nice and clean with the AC working very well.
