The owner is friendly and inviting, she gives you a large option of breakfasts and is always approachable. Amazing food comes your way for breakfast. The room is huge, with a private bathroom and a walking wardrobe. With a great view and instant access to the wonderful garden. Within walking distance to both a mall and city central. Will recommend to all and will be back ourselves.

My wife and I stayed two nights at Garden B & B during a South Island trip. The room is large and very comfortable with its own entrance, and an outdoor area looking out on to a pleasant garden. It is in a good location, easy to get to from the airport and a short bus ride to the CBD. There are good restaurant options a 10 min walk in either direction. Gaye was a gracious host and breakfast was first class. She offered to transport us to the airport which was much appreciated. We plan to stay again on our next visit to a Christchurch.
good place to touch down

We landet in Christchurch after a 2 days travel from The Netherlands. And it was exactly what we needed: a very nice, welcoming hostess, not intrusive, but there if we wanted some advice. Good breakfast, very good bed (want to take that home with me!) bathroom modern, all very clean, practical and nice. Garden is lovely. And a great place to rest (no noise other than birdsong) and go from there to explore Christchurch (Botanical gardens are superb, and a great way to start getting accustomed to NZ trees, plants, birds and the open, friendly, hospitable and easy way of the inhabitants of NZ. We stayed two nights, and rode all around the Banks-peninsula, First a visit to the Saturdaymarket of Lyttleton, partly French, and a typical harbour, with lots of history and charm. Then across the island to Akaroa and back to the mainland. All these views, sometimes both sides of the road the sea, small dolphins, birds and lots and lots of sheep with their playful lambs (we escaped the dreary autumn in The Netherlands for spring in NZ.
Will be back
