Hotel Hilton Clearwater
Otima localizacao e otimo staff. Contudo, hotel nao disponibiliza cadeira de praia nem guarda-sol. Tem que ser pago e o valor e um absurdo. Ja me hospedei em outros hoteis da rede e isso nunca havia acontecido. Lamentavel…..
Expensive , dated, rules for everything BUT don’t enforce the county mandated masks
We had 2 rooms for 5 nights setting us back $720 a night after all the extra charges others have mentioned. Property is an old school 80’s shell made Hilton but missed some basic things for that sort of price per night. We diverted on our way to Naples because of the shut beaches and the mandated mask policy in the county governing Clearwater I am not going to judge your views on masks but what I will say IF YOU ARE FACTORING regulations in your decision ....is that HIlton DID NOT enforce the mandated rule (both Hilton and the county) I stood and watched over 70 percent of guests get in and out of the elevators without masks and crammed in despite a rule of 2 people of one family . The staff wore masks but no o said a word to guest without them. The irony of that is the hotel had so many rules that they policed with rigor. The beach (location) is fantastic BUT to use the expansive beach in front of the property you have to rent the chairs etc . For us that would be another $80 a day just for beds in top of the 2 rooms $50 resort fee and $25 a day parking You cannot even lay down a Hilton beach towel instead you have to go to the waters edge leaving an empty expanse of sand behind you and cramming into the 20 foot strip before the water As a 6 day guest , not even a multi use package for beds or even a “twilight” rate of you cake later in the day .....suggestion to management Staff on the whole were fantastic and service really good. Food and drink by the pool was good and priced OK too. Room infrastructure is that old 80’s popcorn plastering so it’s never going to look updated. Stayed in a renaissance on the way down, huge rooms, contemporary decor and really comfy beds Rooms at this hotel are small, our bed was really uncomfortable , overly used and indented. Old building means no AC vent in the bathroom so that gets hot and humid. After somewhat updating the rooms , little things are badly thought out. I will point out that it was my wife who said that the room has no full length mirror and the only Mirror in front of a chair (make up etc) is mounted at head height above the desk which means you are stood up, stood on a chair or using an iPad with self facing camera to see if you have your clothes on the right way around. Given the $720 a night rate and the lack of enforcement of the mask ruling being there 6 days I found the “safety driven” no room cleaning except for checking in day to be ironically annoying and likely $$ driven. The inconvenience of having to find a scarce maid with a cart to get towels or coffee , toilet paper, new soaps , or calling down and waiting for them etc meant that for most of our stay we were using Walgreens bags to collect our trash and making do with Used towels and even bought out own coffee, sugar and shower gels Wouldn’t take much time or $$ to just have a place we could collect supplies or to double up on the coffee , shower gels etc that would normally be replaced daily. In summary, great location, old building needs some things sorting out and for the price we paid not good value AND although we wore masks, ate on patios etc, we felt let down that elevators (small Unvented spaces) were most often filled with unmasked people and being on the 8th floor we didn’t have a great option to get back and forth to our room
Very Outdated and terrible rooms
I dont often do this because usually everything goes great or ok or average, this hotel is not what we thought. I am here tonight on my first night and last one. I am not going to review it based on the beach because the beach was terrible and nothing we imagined and the beach gets 1 star. Water was not clear and it was rough full of rough waves. But the hotel itself get 0-2 stars. The rooms!!!! please if you are more than 2 you dont fit in the room. I am me and my three kids and the beds are full size very small. My kids are young (younger than 12) and I had to ask for a rollaway bed and even w that we dont fit, so uncomfortable. I have my 2 youngest sleepIng In one bed and they dont fit comfortable or at all. I asked for a king size bed and they said those rooms are only suites. Then the bathroom and room is super outdated. The bathroom is very small. This rooms with 2 beds should have an alert that there is only room for 2 not 4, front desk dont care. I am so disappointed to have chosen this property. Can not wait to check out.
