The hotel is at at a nice location on the river. However the restaurant is closed at 18u and the female owner is very grumpy. This women should not own a hotel. The other people are very friendly. The breakfast was also very good!

The hotel is acceptable. Room was good. However the reception closes at 6pm and there is no food or drinks after that time. Breakfast was fine. Parking is a major problem. There just aren’t enough parking places and you cannot pre book…so I drive 2000km from Scotland and then can’t park properly. It meant parking in an unsuitable location. Town is beautiful. However, overall our stay was ok.

Enjoyable Stay

Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed my stay. The hosts were warm and friendly, the breakfast was very good and the location was great (just across the bridge from the town). The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but a bit quirky. The room was on the third floor and the toilet was in a cubicle out in the hall. I understand that this and the adjoining room are sometime used as a suite. The shower (private) was in a room 1/2 floor down at the end of the hallway. Would stay here again realizing that these arrangements are just the nature of older hotels.

A day in Cochem

Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They make sure their guests have the best time in Cochem. Gives you advises on what to do’s and don’ts in the area ie- recreational drone flying, bike tour etc - they treat the guesrs as their family. Rooms are quite nice for their price - very quiet and clean. Very safe area and gorgeous scenery upfront as it is located right by tje riverside and just in front of the Castle on the mountain- Love my stay here and would stay again should I decide to come back here with friends or for a solo trip —-well deserved compliments Thank you for making the stay in Cochem memorable. A Delightful Stay

We love the Mosel and Cochem in particular, so it was a real delight for us to take our holiday here again this year. However, we changed from our usual hotel to Haus Sonnschein because we wanted a balcony overlooking the river. Well, we were not disappointed. We had a lovely, comfortable room overlooking the river. The hotel is well situated, although it has limited parking. The breakfast buffet is really super, with all of the traditional German breakfast fare. The hotel staff were friendly and made you feel at home. The decor of the rooms is a little bit old fashioned by today's chrome and glass standards, but that just added to the charm of the hotel. Our only slight disappointment was the fact that the hotel restaurant closes at 1730 - 1800 and that is too early for us. We have eaten here before and really enjoyed it and were looking forward to doing so again. The acid test: would we come back here again - you bet you we would.
