Bastava fechar a porta. Gostei bastante!
Stayed after I had surgery for a quick over night getaway. January 2020
What a cute place. We loved being able to have room to stretch out especially since I had surgery 2 weeks earlier. The wine and cheese in the lobby were such a nice added touch. We will definitely be back . Especially when the weather is nice enough to use the courtyard.
I’m traveling from Ohio to Phoenix Arizona. And I stayed at a few hotels, and this one was the best I’ve stayed at by far you get more bang for your buck. If I were to be able to retire here as my retirement home this would be amazing! I had an easy check in with Amanda very friendly kind polite!! The room is amazing it’s everything you would want in a place to stay well done!!
Don’t be fooled!
I booked this hotel through Hotwire. Unfortunately, I chose the Hot-rate option, so this hotel was chosen for me. Upon entering the parking lot, my first thought was “where is everyone”? It was about 5:00 p.m. and there was approximately 5 cars in the entire parking lot (this should have been my first warning). I parked and entered into the front foyer where is was dimly lit. It was similar to the lighting in a romantic restaurant. I entered the office area and one young girl was on the phone taking reservations for what must have been a large wedding. I stood for quite awhile. She seemed to be the only person working in the entire hotel. I patiently waited for quite some time before her conversation ended and I was able to check-in. She asked what brought me to the area and I explained that I was bringing my pet for surgery at Texas A&M. She was quite chatty and proceeded to share pictures of her pet with me, which was fine and enjoyable, but it must have never dawned on her that I had already waited a long time to get checked-in and my pet was also waiting in the car. Unfortunately, things went straight downhill after that. I parked at the back of an empty parking lot and entered into the courtyard by my room. Again, the place was like a ghost town in the parking lot and the interior courtyard. I walked up to my room and the door was slightly ajar. I stood for a moment perplexed as to why my door would be open. This made me quite nervous since I was a female traveling alone and there seemed to be no one around. I knocked on the door, said “hello” several times and walked nervously inside. I turned on all the lights and checked all the potential hiding places. The room was unoccupied, thank goodness, but that was not the only issue. The sofa in the room was black fabric and it was very well worn and looked like the black color was hiding all sorts of nasty stains. The bedspread was not white, like what most nice hotels have transitioned to. I looked at the sheets and there was several pieces of dog hair. The curtains were also dark floral fabric that looked to be very well worn and not very clean. I think this hotel uses dim lighting and dark decor fabrics to hide things they don’t want you to see. After walking through the very small room, I quickly decided that this was not a place I felt comfortable staying alone. I tried to shut and lock the door while I called Hotwire, but the latch was broken (hence why it wasn’t closed when I arrived). I walked back to my car and called Hotwire. They asked if I wanted to switch to a different room, or wanted a different hotel. I definitely said I wanted a cleaner and safer hotel, so they switched to another hotel (which was wonderful). They said I needed to go back to the office and check-out. This is where things got ugly! The friendly & chatty young lady had a completely different demeanor! She said that since I didn’t give her a chance to give me another clean (and safe) room that she was going to deny the request by Hotwire to switch me to another hotel. She said she had already spoken to her manager which supported her decision to deny the change. She said “I could have given you a cleaner room”! REALLY, DO YOU HAVE TO REQUEST A CLEAN ROOM?! You would have thought that her attitude, and that of the manager, would have been apologetic about the open door, broken knob, unclean room, etc, but it was obvious that they were not! I’m writing this review as I’m sitting in my clean room a few miles away. I don’t know yet what battles I’m going to have to fight with the hotel, or my credit card company over the very stressful events of the day. In conclusion, here are a few more assessments of the hotel. The courtyard is very pretty, but that is the only thing it has to offer! The rooms are old, musty, dark and dirty. The area where they serve the breakfast and social hour is in the very cramped office area. Over the past few years, I have traveled extensively and used third party booking sites. This was the first time I have been so frustrated and disappointed. I have no idea why they have many positive reviews. This hotel is not three stars, so don’t be fooled.
I called to make sure my booking was complete and asked for an earlier check in time. The front desk was extremely helpful and answered my questions accordingly! I am very excited to stay here and see what all they have to offer!
