Vagrants in the front entrance trying to get warm that should have been the first clue. Then everyone of us in our party was quoted different amounts for the same rooms. We also said that it showed 68 dollars for the rooms online and they made us stand in the lobby and get our rooms from a website rather than matching the rate for us.
Comfortable in an interesting neighborhood
Convenient and easily accessible off of the highway. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The room faced the street, and the window was a single pane, so all of the street noise was easily heard within the room. There were limited breakfast items due to the COVID. There were some interesting people and interactions directly in the parking lot and Carl's Jr area.
Great stay with convenient location
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and many of best weekend adventures/activities. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the area and are so helpful with our requests.
Need to communicate arrival policy among staff
An email confirmation of my reservation (completed through Choice Hotels) noted that my prepaid reservation would be held until 7 a.m. the morning after the intended arrival. My departure from Texas with my daughter (who was finishing up her last semester at UT Dallas and cramming a minivan with her things) was later than expected, so around 2:30 p.m. Central I called the hotel and told the desk person I would be arriving late; she verified that my room would be held until 7 a.m. (Mountain Time). We departed just before 7 p.m. on May 8 and arrived in Colorado Springs at 6 a.m. (MDT). The woman at the desk said I would need to pay an extra 50% for my room (the few hours we would be using it!) I told her about the email and the call I had made, and she said, "That's not our policy." Thankfully, she eventually said, "I'll do you a favor" and let us have a room without an extra fee. Breakfast, bananas along with with packaged bagels and small muffins due to COVID restrictions, was on the front desk, so we took some with us back to the room. When we got home, I was busy and did not get to this review for three weeks, and I do not remember much else about our stay. I think the room was okay.
Nice!
Clean, nice staff! Breakfast included. We would certainly stay there if we are ever in Colorado Springs again. Arriving in a strange city after dark , you always wonder what you will get in a hotel, we were pleased.
