Avoid this property at all costs - and also stay clear of the owners/agents who manage the bookings

The worst, most appalling customer service I have ever experienced and a truly terrible place. Could not access the property with the code supplied, only able to eventually get in when someone luckily was coming out. No response from my urgent email to (absent) owner/manager. Entered the (extremely grim) apartment to find no bed linen or towels, on querying this I was told these were only supplied at extra charge with 48 hours notice - no mention of this when I booked the night before, and emphasised it was a distress purchase as my wife was in hospital locally. I then went to look at the property's swimming pool, which is described and shown in numerous attractive photos on website. However the door was locked and I was later told by the owner of an apartment in the building that it was not operating, and had not been in use, for about two years. I complained to owner/manager, who not only refused to apologise but also rejected my request for a refund when I confirmed I was cancelling. I urge anyone considering this property - do not even consider staying here. I suggest you also avoid what appears to be the managing agent - montblanc-booking.com whose customer service is simply non-existent. I am still incandescent with rage - and also bitterly disappointed that Hotels.com simply washed their hands of the complaint, saying they could do nothing if the owner/agent had already refused a refund. I hope this saves others a dismal and frustrating experience, which in my case left me hunting for alternative accommodation late at night while also worrying about my wife in hospital.

Brilliant value from money

Had a lovely week in April, some skiing still available if you travel and plenty of walking. Paid €20 extra for Mont Blanc view it was definitely worth it. The apartment is very basic with minimum low quality equipment but it had all you need. It was warm and very clean, the staff are lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool is a good size and again very clean but in need of a refurb. You had to pay extra for sauna or steam room. We would stay again.

Great value, family friendly, lots of on-site extras in pretty Les Praz

Avaliou em 27 de março de 2012

We stayed for a long weekend in a 1 bed apartment. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, in very good condition (clean, contemporary) and with lots of thoughtful extras that you would not expect, e.g nespresso and filter coffee machine, all the utensils and extras to truly make use of the kitchen (dishclothes, detergent, sponges, full cutlery and cooking utensils, salt and pepper), deck chairs and outdoor furniture to make best use of the sun (Les Praz has a well-earned reputation for being a sun trap within the Chamonix valley). There is plenty of onsite parking (outdoor and underground), a great heated pool, a nice playground for children, a reasonably priced restaurant that serves quality food and the best part of all, nearly every room has great views of the surrounding mountains. The one downside is that Les Praz is 10-15 from proper downtown Chamonix, so a car is helpful, but not necessary if you are happy to work around the frequent public transport options. As a bonus, Les Praz is a smallish village with great character and has a clutch of really good restaurants to indulge any foodies in your group.

Good residence in great location

Avaliou em 24 de agosto de 2009

We stayed for 2 weeks in La Grande Cordee with children aged 7-13 years. Apartment is well laid out, clean, and well stocked. Views from the balcony were fantastic. We didn't use the hamman etc but the indoor pool was great to have, as was the table tennis table. Reception is part time, but always helpful and pleasant. Combloux is a fabulous base to explore the area. The excellent tourist office provided enough activities to keep us busy for 2 more visits (in summer alone). The weekly mountain is great value, and the leisure centre in Megeve (5 km away) is well worth a visit. Overall we had a great stay and wonderful holiday
