Férias no lago
Bastante razoável. Apesar do estacionamento e pequeno almoço ser pago à parte, há boas alternativas nas redondezas e parque ao como da rua. Os quartos mais baixos perdem um pouco na vista. Mas no geral é bom.
4* Views, 1* food
Booked thru Newmarket, the rooms were fine and the view was very good. However, this is basically a 2* hotel. It is used by workmen in high viz jackets and the food was very frugal, the daily vegetable was of miniscule proportions and if, like me you do not eat meat, you were at a total loss as there was no choice beyond one veg. Breakfast was a challenge running out of bread. The scrambled egg was poor, somebody sent it back one day as it was cold and i saw them take it into the kitchen, stir it and bring it back out again. There is nowhere to lounge. The road outside to the lake is dangerous with no path on a narrow road used by busses and delivery lorries and should not be undertaken in the dark. It could be a reasonable hotel but the lack of facilities and food lets it down as does the rude young waitress in the dining room. Several complained to the guide but we were each told we were the first ones to complain.
Friendly enough, but .....
Little to recommend this small hotel. Rooms are all quite small; some have great views of lake, others looke over houses at nearby hillsode. There is no lounge as such, the bar opens onto the restaurant, most seating is outside. The hotel itself is separated from the busy main road by only its front garden (10 mtrs) at a point where the road is away from the lake. To get anywhere involves a walk on a very narrow pavement - 200 mtrs south to the local village bars, 400 metres to the nearest point you can get alongside the lake. The nearest bus stop is in the local village. We went on october (with Newmarket travel). The hotel would be much more acceable in summer.
arrived 8pm on day of booking /only to be told there where no rooms left (most likley because of workmen staying there ) this review is my opinion only.we were sent to a b/b up the road dragging our bags./we got our room the next evening, the room was on the front overlooking the lake, noisy if balcolny door left open, food was hit and miss somtimes nice also could be awfull. room not clean, then to be given a bill ( not forgetting we were half board )which including parking of 10 euro per night which i was not informed of, so i refused to pay and didnt .also tap water in a glass bottle at dinner was 3euro
Room for Improvement
We stayed at the Lario for 1 week with Newmarket Holidays , the hotel rooms are large and clean but very basic like a 1990’s Travel lodge, bathroom with a shower was OK lots of hot water , the room was serviced each day with clean towels every 3 days that said what lets this hotel down firstly is there is No LOUNGE AREA , and the bar closes after dinner, so you have to return to your room. The road outside the hotel is very busy and dangerous to walk as there is no foot path , the only direction to walk with a path is the village But what really lets it down is the quality and quantity of food in the dining room , nothing was fresh all tinned veg very small portions and we had to choose tomorrows selection before we started eating todays meal ,when I tried to complain the waitress would shrug her shoulders and walk away One of the starter was a mixed salad, it turn out to be shredded cabbage with carrot slithers and one tomato, I gave up on this after two days of the same . We were booked in for half board, the first night’s dinner was a warm leg of chicken 5 potato croquet’ s and a small amount of cold diced courgette , this after traveling for most of the day , Arrr ! The fish & meat dished up was hard to identify the “Deer stew” was never venison, one of the group happened to be a farmer he thought it maybe beef of some sort, but never venison , the chicken & turkey was processed slices the only fish we all agreed on was the salmon of the other fish served no one on our table could identify any of it, ”fish of the lake” maybe whatever that is ? There was no choice for desert asking for an alternative like ice cream was a challenge, It seemed like a third rate cook was trying to produce what they thought were English meals on a minuscule budget. [ no one with the title of “CHEF” would serve up this quality of meal’s] Breakfast was also challenging the bread ran out on two days , no croissants another day, coffee machine failed so staff brought out cups of instant coffee from the kitchen , more tinned fruit , dry scrambled eggs with brown bits in [ what’s that ?] yuck ! Frankfurters cut into little bits, more Yuck ! Complaints to the Newmarket tour manager and the hotel management were met with the same raising of the shoulders and that no other people were complaining… I don’t think so !! it was the topic of the week with our group We like others would eat out at lunch time so we didn’t go hungry So hotel is good for a one or two night stay room only basis if you are your driving as it has a large underground car park Best to eat in the village, worth trying is Antica Trattoria del Risorgimento , hard to find, as it’s hidden behind the bakery in the village , very different , no pizza , no pasta ,no tourist menu’s , just good interesting food at sensible prices
