Holiday cottage stay

As 3 adults we stayed in the holiday cottage. We were extremely impressed as the cottage was so warm and cosy. It had everything we needed to ensure we had a relaxing stay to include kitchen utensils and included wine glasses. It also has a laundry room at a small cost. Our stay was short to attend a funeral so we didn’t get time to use the health club but I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

Wouldn't recommend for a spa day

Whilst it is a lovely place and looks great after the refurbishment, I don't think it is set up for a spa day. It was all rather dis-jointed due to the treatment rooms being in a separate building to the swimming facilities. When we arrived, reception told us to go to the treatment rooms but the treatment rooms told us to go to reception to sign in. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful and the swimming area was nice but there were no robes (and thin towels) and we had to get dressed to go outside to walk to the treatment rooms in the cold and rain. The treatments were good but we didn't feel particularly pampered or relaxed by the experience, in fact, we felt a little irritated as we paid £75 each for a spa day. that was not really like other spa days that we'd been on for a similar price, which had included robes, slippers, nice towels, biscuits and coffee and lunch!! (none of this is included at Cottesmore unfortunately) Therefore we can't really recommend Cottesmore for a spa day. However, I imagine it is lovely for golf, using the health club facilities or the treatment rooms separately.

We stayed at The Cottesmore after a wedding nearby. We received notification of building works, before our arrival, but they did not impact our stay and the builders were polite and considerate. The reception staff were all wonderful, friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was a problem with the heating, and the weather was bitterly cold with recent snowfall. However the reception staff were so helpful and concerned, offering us another room, though we opted for a plug in heater which was more than adequate to warm the room up nicely. But they still left us a key to another room in case we changed our mind. We had breakfast included in our room rate and the selection and quality was very good. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area, we’d like to see the refurbishment when it is complete.

Great find with amazing views

We stayed here only for one night whilst visiting relatives nearby. It was a fantastic find. We are not golfers but the views of the greens are amazing. The room was wonderfully decorated to make you feel comfortable and cosy. The bathroom was huge and very luxurious. The staff were fantastic at both check in and check out. We had breakfast surrounded by wonderful views. The serving staff were all very helpful and polite. There was only one negative to tout stay and that was the temperature of the room. It was very warm even with the window open but we will definitely stay again.

Absolutely brilliant hotel from check in to check out. Staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Big shout out to the bar manager sorry can't remember her name but she is a credit to the hotel. Fantastic value for money. Would definitely recommend and return.
