We visited here during Spring Break with our 12 year old granddaughter. We ALL enjoyed it. The suite was gorgeous and very spacious. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and there were some fabulous local trees that were real specimens! The food was good. The staff were very friendly. We all want to go back!
Totally relaxed, restored and had fun too!!

I cant say enough about Vallarta Gardens !!
❤️’d so much We stayed an extra wk. Ist a huge well appointed Hampdens 1 bedrm with a wrap around balcony over looking lush gardens - then moved up to a 2 bedrm Villa with its own pool ... (& a washer/dryer👍) ... Both with full kitchens, 1st class everything!
We did venture to Sayulita, Bucerias, Puerto Vallarta by taxi for lunch or Ceviche and 2 evenings for music.
We were most impressed with the lush grounds, constantly maintained, and amazing selection of music lightly playing throughout the gardens.
We chose the all inclusive food & drink, that came with top shelf liquor & excellent chefs!!
Next trip we’ll also use the BBQ & kitchen part of the time, but what a pleasure to be waited on after a year of in home cooking!!! We loved the wait staff remembered our names & favorite cocktails.
We chose a half day fishing trip at the nearby marina and a variety of fish - another couple went 2 hrs longer & got 2 Marlin !! A couples massage & mani pedi for me, we left totally restored and refreshed after a crazy pandemic year.
Due to lower hotel capacity and extreme caution for Covid- we felt we had the resort to ourselves at times ... and everything was uber clean and appropriately masked. Quiet, but still fun, usually only saw 20-30 people here and there and made some new friends. Shout out to our personalized host Sylvia who turned us on to some fabulous nightlife nearby ... and our weekend Guide (breakfast waitstaff by day) Caesar who took us on a fabulous tour to the colonial Mountain Town of San Sebastian.
We’re going back November or December when I’m sure it will be even more capacity, but never one of those crazy too busy scenes from younger days with someone trying to force you into activities. Here- you can do or not do ... whatever . Perfect for us!!!
I’ll give shouts out to my favorite staff in the forum !!!
All the Broken Promises!!

We paid for an all-inclusive 5 night stay at Vallarta Gardens and experienced broken promises at every step!
First, our stay was from 1/23-1/28, so the new COVID rules required us to get a COVID test coming back to the U.S. from Mexico. I called Vallarta Gardens and asked if they had any plans to provide the test for their guests. I stated that I saw only hospitals in PV providing the test for $200 US dollars per person, and we didn’t want to add $400 to our vacation cost. Giselle told me they would call me back and let me know since their mgmt was discussing what they planned to set up for their guests. Two days later, she called me back and said Vallarta Gardens would provide testing for their guests on site at the resort, and we wouldn’t have to pay for it. I asked for an email confirmation. She sent it, and the email stated the test would be on site with all details confirmed “as we discussed on the phone”.
We got to the resort, and the first thing they told us was that we needed to work with their concierge to set up an apptmt at a nearby hospital to get the $200/person test done. We objected, forwarded them the email, but they refused to pay for the test. If they had originally simply said they had no plans in place to provide testing, I would have understood, and we would have postponed our trip. But I made it clear over the phone we didn’t want to pay for the test; Giselle made it completely clear they would pay, and we would not pay anything. Promise broken! Even when a second person representing the resort said (while we were there), “yes we’ll pay it,” didn’t mean a thing. Promise broken!
The resort itself? Nice location on the beach with a single restaurant, so limited menu, but very good food, and the serving staff was excellent! Note: Tipping is absolutely expected for everything.
The negatives: They closed everything down by 7-9pm. Pool closed at 8; restaurant closed by 9; pool bar closed at 7. So no drinking at night, only during the day...?! Oh, the gym was closed, the lounge was closed and the only other pool & bar was closed. The Hot tub was…COLD. The room was fairly nice, but a few significant issues, especially in the bathroom. The shampoo and conditioner were in 32oz glass bottles, and the pump didn’t work in one, meaning picking up a heavy slippery glass bottle in the shower...what could go wrong, right??!! The hanging glass globe light was about 6.5’ high placed directly above the bathroom sink where you stand to get ready. I hit it at least 4 times while getting ready in the morning or for bed. Lucky it didn’t break. And what’s with putting menthol in the bar soap? Using that in the shower was not a good experience when feeling like I rubbed a cough drop all over my body...’nuff said!
Oh, and they apparently expect you to go to a nearby town to buy coffee since they provide the coffee-maker in the room, but no coffee.
Our last night, we asked the waiter if we could get a lunch to-go when we left the next day. He said definitely, but when we went the next day to the restaurant to request it, they asked us to confirm with the concierge...who said we would have to pay since we would officially check out by noon, and they wouldn’t formally start serving lunch until noon (the waiter understood all of this when we asked him). Nothing verbal is good enough; anything in writing not spelling out every single detail will not suffice either.
Be forewarned, they will make you pay for every single thing they can, even though it’s “all inclusive”. And they will not honor any word given verbally. Period.
The final sendoff was the taxi back to the airport, which they originally said was included, (but we found out they changed their minds) and once we got to the airport, the driver told us we had to pay for the ride. In fact, he said the concierge specifically stated we needed to pay for the taxi. Quite simply, it was a fitting ending to the string of Vallarta broken promises!
Perfect spot to restore one’s soul.

I recently spent 2.5 weeks at Vallarta Gardens. I stayed in a one room suite in the Hamptons building. The location is perfect, the staff is wonderful, and the grounds of the property are lush, and well maintained. I was looking for a quiet location to de-stress and I found exactly what I needed. The food was fantastic...I never had a meal I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. The owner was a true gentlemen, and helped me set up a private fishing charter, which was a bucket list item. I spent 12 hours with an outstanding captain and crew. The music playing poolside is all selected by the owner and is a lineup of great 70s era bands (Chicago, etc.) and jazz (Michael Franks, etc.). I look forward to returning in the spring for further rejuvenation.

We had a great time at Vallarta Gardens, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico resorts for 6 days. It is located on the Pacific ocean and looks like a tropical Paradise. The place has so many rooms with amenities such as pool, gym, meeting places , jacuzzis etc. It is a very secure private area and the staff are wearing masks as well as doing a lot of cleaning. We felt safe, secured and felt like home. The staff is super nice and would like to recognize few people like Mario, Marta, Alejandro, Salvador, Caesar, Carlos. We also enjoyed company of some local visitors from Guadalajara Mexico.
One can get Uber or order taxi at this place to go around. The hotel also offers number of adventure tours. People outside in the city are also friendly. Most people are practicing social distancing and wearing mask when we went outside for site seeing at places like Malecon, zona romantica, Buceria, Sayulita etc. We took direct flight United on 21 Nov and returned on 26 Nov 2020. Hardly 15 people on flight and we felt very safe in a 300 capacity aircraft.
We had such a great time in the all inclusive vacation and felt a good escape with 90 degree temp in the beach while NJ is at 45 degree.
