Beautiful pool and garden setting
Avaliou em 30 de junho de 2022
Just a little away from the old town. Beautiful pool and garden setting. We were told that wi-fi was only in the garden but it worked fine in Room 4 . Fully controllable a/c but we never used it. In house masseuse. Booked through the hotel website, brekkie not included. Hotel restaurant only open for brekkie and lunch...closes at 1430L. We had pre-arranged a driver from Mexico City airport for 85USD, the return was another local taxi I found for 50USD but Uber Premium would have been 35USD. Staff all Spanish speaking but friendly and helpful.

Good Central Location

Booked on line at a hotel booking site. Stayed here years ago and loved it. The courtyard is still beautiful as is the charm of the building and rooms. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Today the hotel is in need of a bit of refresh. We first noted the peeling paint on the street side walls. The restaurant we enjoyed a fine Christmas Eve dinner at was not open nor was the poolside bar during our visit. You can get a beer. Wi-Fi is available but not in the rooms. The rooms are large & have air conditioning, some with fridges. Comfortable firm beds, good linens, large bathrooms with hair dryer, shower in tub, some rooms also have a separate shower stall, lots of hot water, room lighting a bit harsh, cable TV (no English channels), free bottled water, no coffee maker. The included breakfast, served pool side, was very good. The casa is a good choice for its central location.

Pleasant stay in an old colonial hotel in the city but with beautiful grounds and a pool
Avaliou em 5 de março de 2019
We had a very pleasant 3 night stay here. We booked a junior suite which was one the first floor of the main building. The room and bathroom were spacious if somewhat plain and sparsely furnished, in true colonial style. This means the fixtures and fittings are old and well worn. The room does benefit, however, from air conditioning and a mini fridge with two small bottles of water provided daily. Out side of our room there was also a nice semi covered verandah with sofa and chairs for relaxing. There are no tea and coffee making facilites or a hairdryer in the room. The grounds are beautiful, which you would never guess from the exterior, which is on the main street. There is a lovely swimming pool and lush gardens with shaded table and chairs and a few good quality sun loungers. The hotel provides pool towels. There is also a small spa for massages and facials, which I didn't unfortunately, have time to try out. Breakfast is included and taken in the garden. This was OK but the same every day - basically fruit juice or fruit with eggs in whatever style you want. This is not a full service hotel so there is no restaurant, although there is a bar in the garden that apparently is open until 3pm for drinks and snacks but as were were out during the day I can't vouch for it. The hotel has wifi. It's not great from within the room but was fine on the verandah, in the lobby and in the grounds. Location is perfect and Cuernavaca is a great small city. Its just a few minutes walk from the cathedral and the zocalo but quiet. There are lots of eateries to choose from. Check out Casa Hildago, which was our favourite. A meal here is a little pricier; budget for around £50 for two with a bottle of wine, but the setting, food and service is excellent. There is a bus station almost opposite for buses to Xochichalco (on weekends only) and it's about a 10 min walk to the station where buses operate to Taxco. A beautiful town for a day trip and highly recommended; buses take about 1.40 hrs each way and cost c120 pesos for the executive service. The reception staff are helpful and speak some english. Overall a good stay.

Lovely Old Hotel in Centro Cuernavaca

Beautiful grounds and architecture and very attentive service more than compensate for this property’s defects. The plumbing is early 20th century, and there is some mildew, but we spent a very contented week there enjoying its proximity to many of the historic and cultural sights of this beautiful city.

Truly Colonial

There is much to like about this hotel, but it needs a little investment for upgrade. It is in a charming old building with a beautiful garden and (unheated) pool very close to the central plaza and Cathedral. It is not handicapped accessable--no elevator, and a few steps from the street to the ground floor. The people are very nice. The breakfast was disappointing--only a continental breakfast is included, although there is a menu for a full breakfast. The rooms were the sad part. The plumbing is old, the beds were soft, and the floors were peeling (so the paint on the floor came off on the bottom of your feet). Listing shows safe in the room, but there are none. No internet in the room and the wi-fi in the public is spotty. Some of the stairwells lack rails and are steep and narrow and are underlit, so be careful. Having said that it is beautiful. Parts of it are over 500 years old.
