Check in was quick just the reception ladies struggled with allocation of balance payment. Facilities on site are not that bad l would score them 7/10. Management need to focus on replacing the old showers in some of the rooms. Toilets at the Mountain lodge kitchen area smell cleaners need to do a better job. Chef on day 1 cooked a lovely meal . Staff on site reception ladies lovely , chefs good , waiters good just the cleaners not so friendly struggled to get the feeding chair cleaned each time we had meals at Mountain lodge. Game drive was ok would have loved to see more wildlife as we saw a lot of the same. Spa treatment was not value for money. Overall stay was good just a few teaks to make customers stay more comfortable.

Very disappointed! Booked for a weekend to stay at Mountain Lodge and the pictures on the website do not depict what was experienced in reality. When engaging with the manager Gwen about the vast difference in pictures on the website vs reality, was told "we put the best pictures up of our executive suite". I confronted the manager that this is false advertising to show only the 1 executive suite as a picture to patrons of what all Mountain Lodge rooms look like. She advised there is nothing wrong with that. If that's what the rooms look like then I am happy we didn't stay to experience the food at such an exorbitant pice too. Would not recommend.

Pleasant stay but beware of "hidden" meal costs

Only options were basic buffets in the evenings, and while tasty, there were limited choices and when checking out, we discovered the exorbitant cost of R270 per person per meal. Would have expected far more than the basic buffet on offer for this cost, or a much lower cost more in line with the offering. An otherwise pleasant stay was negatively influenced by this.

Good: The rooms at the mountains were spacious and clean, I loved that and it had a lovely view. The staff are very friendly. Bad: Their email turnaround time was disappointing. The food was ok, could have given us more option considering it was a buffet, same desserts throughout our stay. There was never any at reception, to make matters worse there’s no wifi or network connectivity. The TV was not clear, with very limited options provided. The place could do with some maintenance, the Ndebele cultural site was neglected which was one of the reasons I opted for the place. The irony we only saw 2 Zebras during our stay. The place isn’t in Cullinan, to do other activities u had to travel 30km to Cullinan, a big let down.

I enjoyed my stay at the lodge. The game drive was very informative and the picnic site had a fantastic view. The food was ok. The room we got was spacious and clean. The whole environment is not toddler friendly.
